not really she stole the idea and concept of time looping from the original 1993 groundhog day!
@Blödmann-i3e4 ай бұрын
@@R0TBWrong. She took inspiration from the simple premise of groundhog day to turn it into a comedic short film about a black man reliving the same day. (like the original groundhog day) Unlike netfilx that literally copy and pasted, she actually added upon the idea. It was written in the title "groundhog day for a black man" because she took inspiration from it. It would actually be copying if she were to just make the regular groundhog day, just with new characters. THAT is copying. Inspiration and copying are 2 different things.

@candace51063 жыл бұрын
@Kun, if the plot is stolen the original creator deserves an apology, to be credited for her idea, and MONEY for her work. However, I think people should watch both films. Her short has more of a comedic flare to it. This one is powerful because of the depth it adds to it. "Two Distant Strangers" shows the psychological impact of being Black and not being able to avoid police brutality no matter what you do. People will not get the exact same experience watching "Groundhogs Day for a Black Man" as they will watching "Two Distant Strangers." Watch both. One will make you laugh at parts. The other one is a traumatizing experience that feels a bit more like an authentic Black experience.

@@mayokunolawale2016 that's what it is for sure. i've seen more than enough movies of black people being slaves, living in the ghetto dealing with one toxic thing after another, drive bys, jail/prison, etc. there are superhero movies but there's always an underlying story about one of the things i mentioned above. i just want a bunch of stories like what white americans typically get. i don't want the plot to mention race all the time but it's nice seeing someone that looks like me having a normal ass day like me. maybe not a normal day. but something like, idk, broad city. just having an adventure. or seeing a different personality than what is typically portrayed. and if there's a couple make it a black couple and make the man lighter because every time i turn around the woman is lighter than the man.
