Can we take a moment to appreciate the amount of self-restraint both ladies demonstrated when the first nun they encountered said that she has a man that comes once a week, and both Jennifer and Clarissa managed to not make an inappropriate comment.

Although they could both be very inappropriate at times, it is obvious that they came from very good backgrounds and knew how to conduct themselves in all manner of situations and all manner of people.

If lacking serotonin, look into pro biotics, which create serotonin, the happy joy chemical in your brain. And also look into Lugol's Iodine, which cleans pineal gland, responsible for restful sleep, so you'll wake, rested and happy. And drop toxic friends, family. Pray to YHWH. Serve Him. Do a good deed without compensation. Gardening is good to. Exercise.

you know, over many years of watching this as a comfort show, i think their cooking is not as bad as it seems - at least jennifer's. clarissa tends to be good at old fashioned british/european food, like her terrines and that quercyan apple cake she made, but when she gets too far afield it comes out very wrong, like her southern corn griddle cakes (as a southerner myself those are insane) or her sad huevos rancheros. but i think most of what jennifer cooks looks like it would be good - lots of mediterranean flavors, probably from all the time she spent in italy and morocco.

I loved the Two Fat Ladies, can't believe it's 18 years since it was first shown on TV. I do wish they would repeat them, I can't be bothered with with likes of "bake-off", Clarissa and Jennifer were the best! I had to watch this one particularly as it was filmed at Kylemore Abbey in Connemara, of which my great great grandfather was the architect. At the time of filming the nuns ran a girls' school there but the 2 ladies obviously came along in the holidays. It is now one of Ireland's most popular tourist attractions but in 1998 it was not open to the public as far as I know

steemdup The Abbey ran a very respected all-girls boarding school until ~2010 which they were forced to close when they had too few sister-teachers. It’s now an educational center in conjunction with the University of Notre Dame du Lac in South Bend, Indiana. But like in the old days, this abbey is still a center for agriculture and commerce for the surrounding community.

@@91YEHNAH Notice that was 4 years ago. I am no longer Catholic. I follow a more spiritual than religious path these days. Organized religion is wrong. It has caused more wars and deaths than any other factor in history. God isn't vengeful and he doesn't punish people. I got educated over these last 4 years through the teachings of Neville Goddard. Boy was I wrong! When I'm wrong, I own it and this was one of the hardest lessons I ever had. The bible isn't history, it's instruction, an allegory. All my life being a Catholic I had MAJOR questions. I didn't believe in the Adam and Eve bullshit; never did. My list of questions about the Catholic teachings kept getting longer and longer until here I am today.

@@91YEHNAH Notice I made this comment 4 years ago. I am no longer a practicing Catholic as the questions I had about the bible, the Adam and Eve BS, immaculate conception were never answered by the church, so I kept looking. I found Neville Goddard and my whole entire life and attitude about God was changed forever. The bible isn't history; it's instruction, an allegory. Once you realize that, everything will change. My whole entire core beliefs sure did. God isn't vengeful and he doesn't punish people. Organized religion is wrong. It has caused more wars and deaths than any other institution and I want no part of it any more. When I'm wrong, I own it, and I was VERY wrong.

Like many reality shows today, I'm sure not every little action was shown. Hand washing was probably not considered important enough to waste airtime for on a 30 minute show. I certainly didn't see residue from one recipe to the next, which would be obvious if they never cleaned up. Just because you didn't see it on camera doesn't mean it didn't happen.
