This is one of my favourite "forever" movie. The chemistry between Finney and Hepburn was electric. Such a beautiful pair...they made you always dream of youth when life was full of promise and exhuberance. Love them.

I hope my biography of Finney, Strolling Player, did justice to the great man. Plenty in the book about Two for the Road and his relationship with Hepburn.

1967 we went to go see a double bill: Antonioni's BLOWUP and another film I knew nothing about. The other film was TWO FOR THE ROAD. Afterwards, we only talked about TWO FOR THE ROAD. The time jump edits, the performances of Hepburn and Finney. If you haven't seen it, see it. If you've seen it, see it again. It's worth the journey to travel with Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney.

Thank you Irene for these videos. Yes Audrey is a big favourite of mine .You and I seem to like all the lovely actresses who were ladies in every sense of the word I see you like Kristin Scot Thomas ,more modern times .Inwas Sorry Claire Bloom couldn't, make it to the memorial She is good too and beautiful but not in such an overt way
@IreneXandra7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Audrey. You're right, we've got similar tastes. I like these actresses that are both good in their profession and real ladies in life, with real class. My favourites are usually European, and many of them British. They're a breed apart. And Claire Bloom is in that category, too. I was sorry too that she wasn't present at St Paul's.

Albert Finney - what a manly man he was! Eeeh, by gum!
@lisabrooks93627 жыл бұрын
Finney and Hepburn reportedly had a brief but intense affair during filming. If this is true, I can only say good for Audrey. She deserved to break free from the clutches of husband Mel Ferrer, who from what I've read only controlled Audrey. He seems to have been a soul killer. She deserved to find joy in the arms of another man. Even people on death row deserve time off for good behavior.

Hi Irene Firstly , is it ok for me to communicate with you In this way since I don,t have any other. I,ve just been watching Anna Karenina.with Vivien I have seen it so many times now.I love it and Vivien as usual acts so well with her lovely cultured voice and displaying emotions in her eyes and even her mouth and general body language. Thank you for all your replies ,Irene , I so enjoy our exchanges
@IreneXandra7 жыл бұрын
Yes, sure, Audrey, I enjoy talking to you. I'm sorry that for the moment I'm not active on other social media platforms. I'm still asking myself whether I should come back to my other accounts. I really like Vivien's Anna Karenina. Who better than she could portray doomed heroines? And like you say, her acting is very nuanced and very subtle. She was a master at transmitting all these emotions when she was in front of a camera, with all her being (and certainly never by overplaying in a theatrical way). I'm sorry her version of the film is not better appreciated. I always blame it on her Vronski and the lack of chemistry she had with him.

I wish they remake this movie! It would be great! Also Sam Claflin I think looks like Albert Finney! Oh god I think they need to make it happen!

Sam Claflin × Emilia Clarke (Once more!) would suit perfectly!

@@user-ht8pn6dv9j Why? Remakes rarely have anything to match the original. It would just be made to fit contemporary fashion.
