I got to say the F-150 lightning is the ultimate daily driver sleeper. There is no better daily driver than this truck. It can do anything around town and it has crazy power. It so smooth and quiet. It is my wife's daily driver now As she loves it so much. I live on the east coast beach And had no problem taking my standard range lightning to the highest City on the East Coast to go skiing In the dead of winter. That vehicle is a beast in the mountains. It was almost too good. I couldn't even get it that loose in the snow. 😂

Great recap video, I have a 2023 F150 Lariet - I took a 10 day trip in july from Idaho to Nevada.. spent 2 days in SLC, 3 days in St. George Ut, 3 days in Las Vegas, & 2 days going back .. but the take away after 2,045 miles driven, 54hrs driving , 2.0 mi/Kw... I love the truck & yes it took us 7hrs of charging along the path (Total charging cost $319) .. but the charging times were really unnoticable as you are breaking up the long drives, and getting to stretch and snacks (Team Food err Ford). 14,500 miles since ownership and I do have some minor gripes like the 1) wireless charging pad does not work with "mag safe" cases. so i use a external vent charger 2) the Android Auto disconnects as you cross specific areas ((identified 2 in idaho I drive by frequently)) need better bluetooth/wifi connection.. 3) Not an issue localy, but charging network outages - In nevada I had several EA stations with 4 stalls and 1 offline or out of order.. I opted to use Tesla superchargers most the time for that reason, but when i called EA they said they were aware of the outages and was working on them. Otherwise it's been great truck, & I wont think of trading it in until after 2026 so I can get new Subscriptions terms (blue-cruise) , NAC's native cahrging port, Heat pump, and any new features they add.

Another underrated long-term quality of life thing with Ford EVs is their commitment to not paywalling phone as a key and other basic remote functions on their vehicles. I refuse to buy any EV where they paywall digital key and cabin pre-conditioning which seems to leave me with only three options: Ford, Rivian, and Tesla. Everyone else seems determined to soak their customers for something that can easily be done with a local bluetooth connection at no cost to the manufacturer.
@darpompie43543 ай бұрын
One of the reasons I just purchased a lightning over a Silverado. I have a Cadillac ELR and can't even launch the app unless I get a subscription. They even had the nerve to want to charge me for a safety software update where everyone else is doing free OTA updates with new features. I walked out of the service bay with no update and vowed that this is my last GM. Now they even got rid of CarPlay for their new vehicles... Ford's free software updates, free app use and free services are a breath of fresh air and they should be commended more for how they are doing it.

Got my F150 Lightning Flash about a month ago. I must say if forces me to be intentional in planning my driving and my driving in general. I understand the Guess o Meter should not be taken literally (I was upset that it didn't seem I would get 320 miles on an Extended Range). But the range is really dependent on how I drive it. I do mostly highway driving and try to keep it between 65-70 mph. If I drive it like I stole it i notice I burn through the battery much quicker. That being said I'm still learning the vehicle and how to manage the battery. For whatever reason I can't charge it to 100% with public charging. I just bought the Ford Pro Charging Station and plan to get it installed ASAP as I think that will make a big difference! This is especially needed for my daily commute to work.

The F-150 lightning is a great truck. It is nice to have notable worthy competition in the market place. It will be interesting to see what RAM REV does to the market. I am a Chevrolet Silverado EV owner. I am very pleased with my truck. I think as these urban marketed trucks get better the general truck market for the masses will start to get more and more de-iced.

Easy for legacy carmakers to blame bad sales on range anxiety, poor infrastructure, etc. when in fact the product needs to be improved. Example, Tesla model y and cybertruck sales still great. Wonder why?
@Mkg2543 ай бұрын
Yeah that’s an interesting point, however, I would point out that long before the Model Y or 3 was a thing Tesla was and still is to an extent very focused on charging infrastructure. Their reliability and availability along with end to end software integration pretty much eliminate those concerns. Giving them a huge advantage over legacy carmakers. Having access to the Tesla network has been a game changer and I would not consider buying another EV without that access.
@dennissabo38853 ай бұрын
@@Mkg254 I agree. But once again, Ford, G.M. etc. are now dragging their feet to take advantage of the NACS network. I will always have at least one Tesla but I would like to try another EV model as well but not if I have to use the CCS network. Ironically though I won't have another EV to try if legacy companies continue to delay or stop production of EV's.
@darpompie43543 ай бұрын
I would check again on those cybertruck numbers. Last I heard is that they already managed to get through their 2 million preorders and only had a 1% uptake. You can now order a cybertruck and get one fairly soon. Ford has been making F150's when Tesla was still in diapers. If you think the quality of the F150 requires "improvement" over that of the cybertruck, you haven't been watching enough videos on all the things going wrong with the cybertruck. The only reason Cybertruck had good numbers was because of the initial backlog from people wanting to be cool. You will now start to see those numbers tank as quality concerns, discontinued lower trim model, and cool factor dissipates. As mentioned, range anxiety and poor infrastructure are the reasons for poor uptake of EV's and not because everyone wants a cybertruck.

@@darpompie4354 WOW Don't lose your mind! The race from ocean to ocean and the race done the east coast with Kyle and Dave O'Connor et al showed a very poor performance from the F150 EV. Poor SOFTWARE QUALITY proved to be the disqualifier. As for the numbers, you get yours from someone and I get mine from someone. Actually, who can we really believe. Right? Who cares. Let's all get together and promote ev adoption. I'm in it to clean our environment. All I know is that I have 2 Teslas. Plug them in, unplug them and go. It doesn't get more complicated than that at home and on road trips. Every first timer should get a Tesla and have an uncomplicated EV experience. Then get a legacy EV with poor software and attempt to charge at EA. Happy motoring!
