I definitely think the scaling of population feels off. Perhaps it's to allow for cool cities without killing computers with hundreds of thousands of npcs, but Bixton definitely looks like it should have 250.000 population, the size it is now

Not really, since the city is 95% single family homes. The city is just very spread (bad land use) which gives that illusion of a bigger population when it’s just like a 20 people living per block.

Maybe an idea for to allow for performance while still saving your computer could be to artificially inflate numbers, Im thinking like the number of people is the regular number multiplied by some amount?

I think in CS1 there was a mod called realistic population that I saw several people use. Maybe that will get added in CS2

Could you please add a observation tower in downtown Bixton, kinda like the CN tower or the space needle, please? I think it would look great! Plus it could be a great tourist attraction and famous landmark for your city!Also love the vids, keep up the good work for 2024!

"somebody gave me a really cool idea for a light rail" aayyyyyy 😎 Talking about buses: the 4-lane road in the "border area" between Bixton and Auburn looks like it could support a bus route on its' own. And I don't know how many train stations can already be downloaded, but a simple one with just a platform and 2 tracks could be placed at one of the railroad junctions for the Auburn-Bixton service to have an additional stop :)

the area between the two cities could be medium density like for example the area between Manhattan and Newark Nj is quite dense and maybe make it walkable just a thought to consider. Or maybe you could do a metro system.

2:15 - that does not signify which zone is compatible with other zoning, it signifies if the road and location is suitable for that zoning type.

Love your videos! A couple of thoughts I had during this video. As the cities of Bixton and Auburn physically merge and grow bigger they decide to merge their transits systems under Bixton Auburn Regional Transit (BART) and school systems to the Bixburn Area School District. In a few places I've lived, communities would combine school districts under a combined name like in Rhode Island there's the Chariho Regional School District for the communities of Charlestown, Richmond, and Hopkinton.

You should keep bus routes along main roads i dont think those neighborhood routes really do much and maybe you could do a metro system even if you keep it small and simple or even a tram system you can just add tram tracks on top of big roads

You could build a small corporate/regional airport and allow Auburn to expand into it, it would start out looking similar to a small airport such as those found in eastern BC. Cranbrook, Kelowna and Penticton are prime examples to me. But as the city grows it would look more like London City or LaGuardia

Hitting a population of around 70,000-75,000 is when my performance really started to tank. I had to overclock and even then the simulation was stuttering.

One idea I've got for district naming is that you could keep the smaller districts, but have a capital "AU" for Auburn or "BI" for Bixton at the end of the name

because the game on PC has lots of performance issues yet to be resolved and also bugs so they basically released the game on PC and use us PC players as beta testers to get the game working for consoles… they did us dirty

It would be a true North American city if you laid only one or two light rail/ subway lines then abandon it for decades 🤣 local bus lines from multiple cities overlap for things like colleges it would be realistic to end the line there, I think it would be cool if you made that main avenue run directly into both cities then placed a light rail line in the middle. I also still think you should only have the ferry run during the day and have a night bus between the main bus stations. If it could take cars i feel like it would be worth being 24/7. You might want to expand your rails to be double tracked before you get too built up if you ever want to make a regional rail system that is going to be a pain in your ass lol!

@@Gigi-xr3qsi have an RTX 4070 which basically performs as well as an RTX 3080 and it runs great in basically all high settings, just make sure you also have a good CPU to pair it with, i have an i5 12400f and sometimes it reaches 100% usage of CPU but it still runs great
