I stopped playing last December. I refused to be a console beta tester. I knew what was coming as soon as they started working on controller support. Then they announced slayer script and tried to say it was to make combat better when I knew the driving force behind it was console. I wish others would have realized sooner. Unfortunately, AGS has so many players by the balls because of the combat and they refuse to acknowledge that AGS is incompetent and New World will never come close to reaching its full potential.

Man, so much of what they say, is like the exact opposite of what the player base feels or is saying... they have community managers, I don't get what else they would be doing other than watching videos, reading the reddit, and keeping up to date with community sentiments.

Yea agreed. And to build so much hype to share a message to clearly the wrong audience. Why build a ton of hype just to announce that a game people are already playing on PC is now available on console. Like, yea, good for the game and numbers and stuff, but I assumed the hype would be for more end game activities and content :/

What I'm reading in all honesty is more tragic. Nothing is changing, all their confusion, hiding messages/articles boils down to we are waiting 4 more months for a rebranding/renaming and thats it. We have the msq updates etc, we have the slayer script, we have controller support, swimming is new, raid is new, pvp island is new. That's what we get for a year of no content and broken promises. Fuck this game.

Someone please explain to me matchmaking on the 3v3 arenas! Last time I played there was matchmaking, what is the difference?! I keep asking and nobody tells me... I heard matchmaking arenas a bunch of times but what is actually changing?

I think they meant either cross-world, as well as potentially based on your weapons (so not multiple healers and all that)

Now I, like everyone else, am skeptical of the situation, however I think for the purpose of research we really shouldn’t be arguing semantics or inferring what they “mean” vs what they “say”. It doesn’t do anyone justice. There should be a lack of bias because our biases are neither correct nor incorrect. They’re just feelings. The articles are what they are, the devs say what they say, and we can only know once we see what happens.

1st article: Holy shit that is a whole lot of words saying literally nothing new and again Scot has the $#@%$#@ audacity of saying he knows what we want by making some "FFA" pvp island that will be owned by big companies instead of adding matchmaking to OPR, new OPR maps and ranked arenas. My god he is so far out of touch. 2nd article: They can't even give a direct answer to us PC players that were there since Beta, the disrespect is unreal. It is very likely they are saying really corporate answers because all console and new players will be funneled into fresh start servers that will not be accessible by old players unless they start a new character. Unless a huge amount of old players return to their mains so we can actually play the game or we are basically getting wiped.

They said there will not be (at least not in October). On October 15th, the game is released on console, and for PC players we get all the new content on that day (as long as you bought the DLC). PC is still going to be around! Hopefully it actually means more content for all of us eventually. Thanks for watching!

@@Savvvo I think console players have a way bigger casual playerbase and realistically there is like 6 months to a year of content for a casual that plays like 10-20 hours a week. I think that’s why AGS want to target console less pressure for new content which is very annoying for pc players

Don’t get me wrong New World aternum, as a solo player friendly or even as arpg with that combat system sounds fun to me if it didn’t come with the history of incompetence and negligence to current player base who continued to play and support new world. Unfortunate that it will end this way, and am not sure how much more patience pc players can have, mostly this time I ll be done for good.😢😢

This just shows how disconected AGS is from other MMORPGs on the market and players, they are making a big deal releasing the game 3 years later to console while most MMOs nowdays will release on both PC and consoles, but fine, it might be a big deal for players...... But praising UX changes or adding one raid, adding solo version of the same fights, just HP/dmg scaled down and being so happy with themself... That is just huge delusional from their part.... This is something other MMOs won’t even mention, because it is ALREADY expected from the updates, something like mid season update for most MMOs nowdays... Even MMOs 10+ years ago did managed to release more content than NW....

Most of the "soul trials" in the game that you go through in the main questline are not good. They have awful, annoying mechanics. Making them replayable content (3 per day) is not much of an addition. That 10 player raid, depending on tuning, is going to vary from a 1%er piece of content to a 5%er. The game needs basic things like a barbershop and more than one OPR map far more. Thumbs up for the video.

Agree on the OPR map! I haven't played the revamped soul trials, but I can see them getting very old/boring very quickly.

lets be realistic here, every game that releases on PC with the tag "releasing on consoles later" will do it with the idea of beta testing it on PC like an early access game. the "later console release" will have all the time and patches and content that was released on PC so it will be a better game. also... not to sound like "we are releasing a old game on console at full price", the game will be labeled something like the ultimate edition or complete or remake or something. most of the times the game sucks and never releases on console. in this case, i got NW on release at full price, played it like a week to realize my PC could not run it good so i quit, at that time already were news that was considered a console release later so i'm waiting to play the game like intended.

Bottom line: It is confirmed that for the past 3 years, we have been nothing but paid beta testers for Console players. There is nothing major new coming (a 3 boss 10 man raid ... basically a dungeon with 10 people instead of 5). Lies/bait for months about what's coming. No new real content for what will be a most of a year.

The first article says: "From the actual control standpoint, we’ve got a lock on now, which is great, you can press one click [and] you can easily switch between targets. So it just makes it easier.” Are they going to change the action combat to tab-targeting? Maybe this is why they say NW will be ARPG? Why nobody talks about that? :)

Soooo.... nothing that we don't know already. I think people are blowing the communication mishap out of proportion. Was it mishandled? Absolutely. Are we getting as much new content as we would have liked? No. But porting the game and relaunching to console will be a solid influx of players and revenue, both of which New World needs. The devs have already confirmed a future expansion, so the more money the bring in from console players, the more they can invest that into future end game content. The PC players need to take a chill pill. It's not like they're asking you to pay money for the low volume of new content. It's free. If you want to see the game survive, you gotta man up and quit the self-sabotage.

I have peace of mind knowing they have the MSQ in a spot they like it, and now (hopefully) they can invest more time and energy in end game. Hope the console launch goes well!

Now it’s more than confirmed they used us to finish the base game, made us buy an expansion to do this soft relaunch that’s $10 cheaper than what we paid for. The question is that is this what the player base needs, what the players that already left need to return and in my case it is a firm no, this is not what I want or what I need. I am fairly certain that most of the players who left feel the same. This is yet another miscalculation from their side. It seems like Scott Lane and the bunch read Steve Jobs' biography one time too many and have gone with players don't know what they want so we give them this broken bug when they asked three years for new content because this broken bug is what they really want. And then Scott Lane and the bunch keep on wondering how people leave and never come back. None of this will save New World.
