That gray has become increasingly popular. There are numerous car manufacturers using shades of gra\y very similar to that Islander. Long Island Watch is one of my favorite watch brands, hard to beat for looks, specs and value. They've accomplished so much in a very short time. They might have begun as a "replacement" for Seiko's discontinued SKX line, but now they are so much more. I enjoyed your review! BTW, yes, I own a couple of Islanders and love them very much.

I’m wearing the grey Islander now!! Haha. This watch is so beautiful. Seriously can’t stop looking at it. Great AR coating. See through crystal and I love the depth the dial has

One, I know I am late to the party and two, I know this will be heresy in some people's books, but, that grey would look really sharp on a medium to darker leather strap. Now that you have had them for a while, are you still enjoying them?

I say bravo & congrats on your purchased. I missed out on the "Greyport" the first time around and will be joining you in acquiring one of the re-ups. I think a black/grey/blue NATO or Marine Nationale (VERY comfy!) with a single thin strip of blue would look good on the with the grey dial. Can never really go wrong with a black retro waffle IMO 🤷🏼 Thanks for posting & for the shots 9f the grey under dynamic lighting to get an idea of how it looks to the wearer. I've heard other ppl state the same thing about the grey seeming to have a purple tint. Nice demo

haha I saw that. Yes I missed out too! I really wanted a 40mm diver. Been going smaller lately but this is as small as I can go. I honestly cannot choose a favorite. The grey is def growing on me! Let me know if you get any of them. I really just wanted to blue dial one too but it's not for sale yet

@@greginaustinTX the 40mm is a nice sweet spot, and I'm a huge proponent of anything on an H-link brac. Gotta say, though, I have two Islander 38mm (emerald green with baton hands - it's incredible - and the newer Pan Am on a jubilee, Pepsi is pencilled in next on the "wants" list) and they are both strong contenders for current favorite. Actually, that Pan Am is going so hard for me right now... Hard to reach over it for another. Marc is the only person I know that makes me *want* to give him my money regularly. Still gotta get a Spinnaker Bradner also. And he's got some sweet Phoibos Apollo compressor/dual crowns on sale... 💸💸🤷🏼💸💸

@@hgr.7857 the only other Islander I’ve ever wanted was that emerald yacht master like. Think it’s a 40(?) heard good and bad about Spinnaker. I do like Phoibos. They have some crazy watches!

I actually did a photoshop mockup of the grey dial with a black/grey/light blue NATO strap and I think it looks pretty good. The key is the blue stripe is a pretty close match the blue on the dial (at least according to the photos). Link below. i.ibb.co/MsDsSnB/ISL-grey.jpg

So the grey is the only one I kept and I love it. I actually really like the bracelet. It grew on me. I will say this grey version has THE best lume I have ever seen on ANY watch.

I'm considering that ghost too, but putting it on maybe a white or red plastic strap? And yeah that gray definitely is not the traditional gray.

I know :-( I’m wearing it now. Looks purple but I’m really liking it on bracelet now and the lume of the grey is very good. Man I like all three! It’s been a tough day hahaha
