Today is Day 1 of our first Virgin Voyages cruise! We board the Valiant Lady, tour the ship, check out our room 10310 A (Sea terrace balcony) then have Extra Virgin Italian food for dinner! This 4 night cruise also took place over Thanksgiving, so we also check out some of the special food offered for that!

Do you two have jobs? Yes! We both have full time careers. Brian is a Software Engineer and Kerry is a Graphic Designer.
What are those black pouches around your neck? We use the lanyards to carry some camera equipment, but many cruisers like to wear lanyards to hold their room key card.
What camera do you use? We typically use the DJI Pocket II, however, when we are in the water we use the Go Pro Hero 9, and in Alaska we occasionally used the Nikon P1000 for wildlife shots. What is a GUSS? GUSS is our name for a Towel Animal! It is a childhood memory for Brian that has lived on for years. You can see the home video moment where GUSS was born in Adventure of the Seas Day 6 (We Made the News) and Allure of the Seas Day 3 (Sea Day).
Is that one thing you said serious? Almost certainly not. If you’re new to the channel, we have really dry, sarcastic senses of humor. So if you’re questioning if it’s sarcasm - it probably is.
How do I ask a dinner time question? Leave a comment on any video and let us know it’s supposed to be answered at dinner time. We’re always looking for new questions (even if the next cruise we can answer it on is a long long way out).
Is it really pronounced CoCo “Key”? Royal Caribbean has said itself that it is pronounced “Key” in a FAQ of their own here: creative.rccl..... To each their own on this pronunciation!
When and how did you meet? We met in February of 2020 via a dating app. We answer this question in more detail in our Independence of the Seas Day 2 (Swimming with Pigs) video.

You may not have known before you sailed with them, but Virgin is known for their sustainability efforts. That's why the paper straws (I for one always ask them not to bring a straw because who really needs them anyways?) With so much plastic going into our oceans and all the microplastics we ingest that are now being questioned in our health, I really appreciate their efforts. It's also why they have no single use plastic bottles and use non-plastics where they can. I love the water bottle filling stations!

Your comments about people identifying with you and looking to you for how introvert nation might react to any given cruise line are the whole reason I have booked a Royal C cruise for me and my introvert sister in April! I keep assuring her we will find the less-crowded areas, and in case not I got us a balcony room. But I appreciate how you guys keep it real, plus you are quirky and fun and entertaining! @@fhud2800 depending on the type of ship you’re on, my introverted husband and I love the promenade deck on the voyager class and the freedom class. There are chairs outside that are comfy to sit in and you can just sit and listen to the waves. It’s very quiet and we have never been overrun by people.

The bed converts into a couch thats what the big drawer at the side of the bed is needed for. Your cabin steward can turn your bed into a couch and back every day if you wish.Totally agree that the bathroom is too small.

Aw, did you miss the sail away party? They give out free bubbly. I am an obsessive researcher and knew almost every detail of the ship and the things they offer before we boarded. It’s kind of fun watching to two discover everything

You may be interested in reading some of the "history" of the line and ships. Especially based on some of your comments on the room in particular. The line is super new and they're kind of learning as they go. The couch thing was something that i believe they shifted on for example. The room can be configured during the day to be like a couch and a living area instead of a bed and they would change it at night for you. But they pivoted from that quickly i believe because it just didnt work out well. They're whole idea was to reinvent cruising, so they're very daring and very different in a lot of ways. Some stuff hit it out of the park and some stuff didnt but they absolutely tried, and i love them for it. Can't wait to see what they'll be like in another 10 years or so. The pool being so small, no movie screen on the pool deck and the somewhat strange theater layouts/shows were my main areas of improvement for their next class of ships. Other than those very minor things, i loved literally everything about virgin

My husband and I also went on the same ship during thanksgiving and really enjoyed it as fellow introverts lol! Had the same thoughts about food and the room and loved that a lot of the stuff is included in this cruise line. The bed can be converted to a bed and couch which i think gives you better access to the drawers, but then less bed :( great for solo though

From memory I think they were going for a bed/couch combo. The steward would make into a bed at night and couch during the day. Hence the storage area “under the bed”, as can get to the storage during the day. But after feedback that just kept it as a bed, so it doesn’t really work as just a bed.

My husband and I are going on our 1st VV cruise next month on ScarletLady. I am SUPER excited! We are pretty introverted on the grand scale, but we tend to come out of our shells when it's vacation time! I have seen some posts in our voyage group that made me go.... hmmmm. But, I am pretty convinced we are going to love Virgin!! We've only ever sailed RC, so it should be pretty different.

We cruised Virgin in December 2023 and going back April 2025. If your bracelet was loose, there are adjustable to make them tighter. I never had a problem with it and I have a skinny wrist. You can order as many starters, mains as you want. We ate so much. Looking forward to cruising again.

I am an introvert, I feel like when I am on vacation with family and friends I feel more like an extrovert, because I am with familiar people. When traveling alone with my husband I am more myself the introvert, because hubby is also the same! So, I can see how you two may feel like extrovert as opposed to introvert while traveling, you are engaging with each other!

Fun video, we love Virgin! On your next cruise with them, after you unpack, just slide your opened luggage under the bed, that’s how they fit. You can’t slide them under there if they are closed.

Traditionally, focaccia is made with flour, yeast, salt, water and olive oil, making it vegan. Some alternative recipes call for eggs but definitely not needed. I never use eggs when making it.

It’s ok that Carnival isn’t right for you. And it’s ok that it’s the best cruise line for others. That’s why different types of ships and lines exist. It’s not a one size fits all. I was surprised at the extreme criticism in this video! I went on VV last year and yea truffles are usually an up charge anywhere, I personally thought with 3 suitcases and a backpack that storage was plenty but we upgraded to the balcony XL. I guess it’s perspective and everyone’s POV is different but I’d definitely cruise with VV again

When Virgin fist launched the rooms were set up with a couch and then the room stewarts would make it in to a bed at night. That explains the weird placement of the drawer and the weird table beside the bed.

My hubs and I are also introverted and don't really party. We don't like being around tons of people either. We just took our first RC cruise and were on Freedom. I was pretty pleased with the space to guest ratio. The sea day activities were pretty crowded but not as bad as our three NCL cruises.
