Your locs are gorgeous. I just bought an oil mix and I am dabbing some on my wrist to make sure I don't have a reaction. I don't usually do that but my inner be careful told me to.

Looks great. By year 3 I had an entire section in the back unravel during the humid season. Our hair does strange stuff. I am at six years now and minus a few front edges, my hair is completely locked!!!

Glad to know I'm not the only one experience so much unraveling in the back! lol My edges are my second problem area since my temples and sideburn area are the same looser texture as the back. Looking forward to the journey!

Thank you for sharing this information. I am starting this journey and you gave some essential info regarding the shampoo and wash process after installation. I want to make sure I'm as informed as possible and that tidbit about possible mildew is definitely something I'm going to ask my loctition about. I will be recording my install video but until then, I've done a consultation and countdown video, as I just started my channel a couple of weeks ago. Again, great information! I definitely will continue to follow your journey.

Your hair is looking great! Thank u for talking about the Sisterlocks shampoo. I also just made a video about it lol, it's a very interesting product to say the least lol. But at least u get to use a shampoo of your choice, I think in your other video you said that u couldn't wait to use a dandruff shampoo, so glad to see you found something that works!

I LOVE your locs! 😍😍 Tomorrow will be 4 months anniversary so I'm excited about that! I also appreciate that the mentioned the SL shampoo. For me, I don't recall having a scalp issue with my starter shampoo, but my trainee noticed my hair was very dry from using that so she recommended the SL dandruff shampoo. After using that, my scalp feels like it's on flames and itches very bad. Like you said, I thought well maybe that's how it feels after a fresh retighten, but it kept happening. So after around the 4th time of using it, I looked at the ingredients and was shocked as to what is in it. I think that I could be allergic to something in it though (I just started developing all of these allergies like to the antiperspirant in deodorant and dairy) but it also has ingredients like shea butter, beeswax, etc. - which I thought you shouldn't really use those products with locs. I know I've tried starting my daughter's locs with beeswax and not only did it make her hair hard, she was itching pretty bad after I used it so I washed it out and started over with braidlocks. I'm already aware that I have low porosity hair so I need moisture, but after my trainee gave me some of the SL moisturizer to spray my hair with, my SLs started unraveling and one came undone so this month, she had to redo that one again. When I was just using plain water, it didn't unravel, but I guess like with loose natural hair, what may work for someone may not work for someone else. Now, I'm just looking into alternative shampoo that won't make my head itch. I didn't want to initially because I don't want to mess up my SLs, but like your consultant said, I'll be using a clarifying shampoo. I just purchased the O Locker detoxifying shampoo to give it a try. I have the O locker tool which I like and use on my daughter's braidlocks. I found out about it from Let's Journey's channel. I wish you nothing but the best during your journey!! It's amazing how we all learn what works for us and what doesn't whether we have locs or not. 😊 I say enjoy it and love Your hair. Your Sisterlocks are absolutely beautiful just like you! I can't wait to see more of your videos!

I heard about the O locker detoxifying shampoo and I would love if you let me know how it works for you! As you said, I also started developing random allergies I didn't have before including certain deodorants, perfumes, dairy, etc. So it's very difficult to know what will cause a reaction until you try it. I've been terrified of applying any moisture other than water on my locs because I have a looser texture and I'm afraid of unraveling, but my hair does have a tendency to dry out as well. Hopefully, with this change in shampoos, my hair will be better able to retain moisture without being oversaturated. Thank you so much for your insight and love! xx

Love your hair. What size are your locs?

thanks! My sisterlock consultant advised me against getting small, so they're all about medium size.

I'm about to get sisterlocks at the end of the month, I'm so excited (my hair is pretty short right now so it will not look as beautiful as yours) Why did your consultant advised you against small locs? Asking for a friend ☺️
7 жыл бұрын
Oh wow congrats! MY consultant advised me against small because I have very dense and coarse hair. The size of your locs determines the volume of them once they've matured; smaller sized locs are recommended for those with thinner hair to give more volume. (:
