Hey! I graduated with a degree in BSIT and led the programming team for our thesis project. My journey began in IT service desk support and eventually led me to become a Product (SaaS) support specialist. Now, I'm eager for a career change. My top choices are becoming a QA engineer or a data scientist. If I pursue QA engineering, should I start as a junior QA tester? And if that's the case, do you have any advice on what courses I should take before applying for positions? Thanks a bunch!

Yes, definitely you can monitor the logs yourself and if any error in the data lake you notice you can report it to PO

I have been a manual tester for 6 years and I have never still got the chance to learn sql but let me tell you the different if you learn one because I actually got the chance to meet fellow tester that did learn sql. She knows what goes wrong and help to explain the bug better. She can pinpoint a lot more on the bugs with the skill of sql. I would say it's not mandatory but surely differ you apart from the rest of tester.
