In the first shatter, from flats perspective the shield was down but from bowie's perspective the shield was up for a few miliseconds already. Must be a latency issue.

Re: weird shatter: IIRC, the shockwave starts behind you. Looks like the hammer down interaction hit Bowie, but the shockwave started at the same time and hit his shield as it was deactivating.

what I got from that shatter is that it has two separate hitboxes: the shockwave starts from your feet and the hammer is a little ahead and does the 250 dmg with knockdown but without traveling. bowie blocked the shockwave but was close enough to get caught in the hammer hitbox

I would agree with that, however, before they made the 250 crit shatter box it still would fail shatter past the first target. I've had it happen to 4-5 times in the past it mostly happens when you shatter through a shield though. has a bit to do with ping dif too.

Addressing the weird shatter in the beginning, I’ve documented a few of my shatters not popping off correctly, at first I thought it was my fault, but after some very clear hits, I’m starting to think there might be a bug in the game. I’m trying to understand to improve my own gameplay but I’m having a hard time At 4:10 for example he holds shatter all through the enemy teams push while their rein is swinging then finally shatters at 4:30 into a shield? Do masters players ult only off reads or something?

for me it looks like he dont intentionally hold shatter anyway, he got shattered 1st at 4.17, coincidentally. if you look closely, right before enemy rein shatter, its a decent shatter for him. had flats not shattered, he will probably do it. but since he lost his opening, there's just no good reason to shatter, until he shatters the kiriko, which is a gamble i guess.

9:05 when flats pulls up the for the milisecond you can see all the stats they support diff. Bownie makes up for the damage diff between the dps but he couldn't make up for lack of healing. Also not sure if it was just becuase it clips but looks like brownie was barely getting heals

Deaths do matter, because you're out the game till you respawn which is 8 seconds and roughly an extra 3 seconds on overtime. So if we do the math8×3= 24|8×8= 64. twenty-four seconds, compared to a minute and four seconds of basically not playing the game. Imagine for that entire match you didn't see either of them at the beginning of the match because they were afk. A minute and four seconds is one fourth of the match gone.

If they choose to rush in or try to push past they will catch at least one swing in while walking up to him. Also helps a lot if there is another rein and they want to take that corner from you and duel because you want to get your first swing in before the other rein can, building your ult faster than the other rein will.

there is nothing wrong with doing that. Swinging your hammer does not decrease or increase your movement or have any effect really. Since there is a chance where someone could just walk infront of your hammer randomly.
