Amazing how two separate PA cars drift nearly off the road (one high speed) and I'm not supposed to notice? The rest of us would be ticketed or worse.

Thanks for the ride-along. Hauled loads on that route many times. Been a decade since heart problems knocked me out of the truck, so it's enjoyable to see familiar roads from an in-the-cab prospective.

Perkins, is the restaurant not sure of what the truck stop was, but I used to work there back in the day. Last time I've been up at the TA was like 3 years ago and that Chappell tractor trailer was sitting next to the Perkins in the car parking lot but if they moved it wow.... that truck was there for years.

I must not have missed passing you by much that day. I ran up 322W and just off at 147 before crossing the river. That is a pretty drive up along the river, especially seeing “Lady Liberty” out on the river by Dauphin.

Right after you come outta that “tunnel”, there is a miniature Statue of Liberty somebody set up on a rock out near the middle of the river. You might not have seen it when you went past. Your video just barely missed showing it. I’ve often wished I could know the story of how it got there, and who was responsible for putting it out there.

Several years ago I had a Penn trooper cut me off to pull a guy over, hit his brakes right in front of me at highway speed (55+) and almost caused a wreck. Naturally dumb behavior is not forgiven by his badge and excess testosterone. I flashed my lights at him as I almost ran into him during the stupid maneuver. A couple miles down the road he pulled me over! I'm like duh you were reckless and almost caused a wreck. He stomped back to his car and tore out of there like a PO'ed teenager. Says volumes about the professionalism of Penn state troopers.

man that brings back memories. Con-Agra had a distribution center in Mechanicsburg Pa. we would unload at Con-Agra & then head up to TA up at the 81/78 junction was our designated fuel stop. spent many a day there waiting on my next load. Back in the day the TA’s restaurant was still open. the mom & pop truck stop next door had subway. the Pilot across 81 had parking for maybe 8 or 9 trucks. you had to get there early if wanted a parking spot at the pilot.

I used to run the old road 5 nights a week from the late 90's to mid 00's right passed the 225 exit after the right hand curve is the mini Statue of Liberty and back in the day that Pilot used to be something else and damned if I can remember but Double D would always holler at drivers on the radio and well i never saw first hand but I heard she done some favors for some hands. That Red Rabbit diner used to have amazing food!

That’s a Flying J up there now IIRC. I used to fuel my Diesel Blazer there in the early 2000’s when I was in college, and of course it was Wilco Hess. RIP to $1.09 fuel. TA and Pilot still there. I live out of state now haven’t been that way in about 6 months.

HI Steve, Welcome back to Pennsylvania. That rail line you were driving along 22/322 between the Susquehanna River and Rockville is the Buffalo Line. Unfortunately that line is not as busy as the Pittsburgh Line. I don't know if you've checked out the Rockville Bridge that carries the Pittsburgh Line over the Susquehanna River.

Ahh yes, welcome back to potholesylvania. Those cops always run the mustard line. Trucks always drift over into the hammer lane partially. I always have to run up thru there and almost everybody is close to playing mirror tag. The dot are usually in grey f250s and bigass vans. The little f150s are usually the forensic units. There are a few across the state that are dot tho. And the camera cars are supposed to be a speeding deterent. At least they tell you they're out and tou only get tagged at 10 or over the Construction limit. Skyworks is easier to hit that driveway if you go up to exit 77 and come down the 2 or 3 miles. Just in case you gotta hit that place again.
