At least two people have died in Asturias dragged to the sea by the strong waves caused by the Nelson squall that is hitting the Iberian Peninsula.
A man died in San Esteban de Pravia, in the municipality of Muros de Nalon. The victim, a tourist, was watching the sea at Punta de la Barra and, as El Correo reports, he was swept away by the waves. Some witnesses raised the alarm at 13.01, as noted by 112 Asturias, and, despite the action of the emergency services, nothing could be done to save his life. "At 13.48 hours the team reports that it has located and recovered the lifeless body of the deceased," has highlighted the emergency team of the principality in a statement.
