if the state is pure it means that = 1 --> rho^2 = ( | psi > < psi | ) ^2 = | psi > < psi | = | psi > I < psi | = rho, so any rho^n = rho on pure state, so any Tr(rho^n) = Tr(rho) = 1

for calculating the average value of an observable when can we use the density matrix and when can we use the reduced density matrix
