I was a lil taken aback at the comment someone is lazy if they use the I'lipfa ruler. In fact having lil control over my left arm it gives an assurance that my ruler won't move from its intended place. I'm sure it wasn't ment to be a derogatory comment to anyone who chooses to use it for any reason. In fact mine was a gift when I started out. I had no idea it would aid in ruler stability and I LOVED IT even then. Always appreciate lil tips n tricks than you for those. Have a blessed evening. Oh, I really like your blouse too!! Ps the fabric is awesome. I love that it isn't a typical Halloween fabric. It's gorgeous

The 2 little pumpkins have 'odd' stems. Funny, I saw it right away when you started laying out the pieces in the row. And then you started talking about chain piecing and if you sew every piece correctly they all come out correctly. I was thinking to myself, "And if you have an error, then you sew that same error into every piece!" Funny how we cannot see if there is a mistake but others can. I made a cow quilt with lots of cow heads in different fabric for my kids. I did make a few mistakes and I did not see them. But as I proudly showed my daughter the pieced top, she looked at it for 2 seconds and instantly saw EVERY block that had a mistake in it! Darn kid! Cute quilt! Love the video!

I made my design wall quilt. I talk about it in this video and show more of it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5rbaoCvfbCngdk I used a large piece of Soft and Bright Batting, backed with fabric then quilted it on my long arm. I bordered it with a cute chicken print, almost like a blanket binding. I have a 6 inch strip of some type of bulletin board material that runs the length of my wall, covered in white batting and cotton fabric. I show it and say the name of the product in the linked video above. I use T-pins to hang it when I need it. I have also taken it to quilt retreats. How do you know how to cut the pieces for each pumpkin? The pattern says "From the assortment of 10" squares in one colorway cut: " but how do I get the variety in each pumpkin? This tutorial is a sewing/piecing lesson, but does not teach this pattern.
@sisterchicksquilting3 жыл бұрын
I had that same question when I read the pattern. I prorceeded like this: cut all the pieces, say for teh same sized square, for all of the large pumpkins then when I had all the pieces cut, I mixed and played with them unitl I had the look I wanted. That's the part of the pattern where you're creativity comes in. A design wall works well as you can look at all of them compare and decide how you like it. Or I suppose you could cut each individual pumpkin pieces one at a time as you go. This would take me longer.
