Featuring Patrick Porter, Professor of International Security and Strategy, University of Birmingham, and Senior Associate Fellow, Royal United Services Institute; Michael Mazarr, Senior Political Scientist, RAND Corporation; Colonel Lawrence B. Wilkerson (Ret.), Distinguished Visiting Professor of Government and Public Policy, College of William & Mary; moderated by Christopher Preble, Vice President for Defense and Foreign Policy Studies, Cato Institute.
The disastrous choice to use force to remove Saddam Hussein from power did enormous damage to the wealth, well-being, and reputations of the United States and Great Britain. To this day, the hangover of the Iraq war looms large over the politics of both nations. Yet how each of these “special friends” came to the decision to invade Iraq remains shrouded in mystery and mythology. Until now.
Patrick Porter, author of Blunder: Britain’s War in Iraq: www.amazon.com...
Michael Mazarr, author of Leap of Faith: Hubris, Negligence, and America’s Greatest Foreign Policy Tragedy: www.amazon.com...
Both authors detail the motivations and ideas that drove two great democracies to a war of choice, and explain the lessons that must be learned to avoid similar disasters - today and in the future.

Colonel Wilkerson is a true American 'hero.' America would be much better served with people of his learning and integrity at the helm.

Larry said it: Condi Rice either went along with it or promoted the war on Iraq, pre-9/11.

Condi was an Exxon executive. She had a tanker ship named after her before she went in the gvt.

Only 7351 views because the vast majority of Americans are"nt interested in anything that does"nt feed into their often superficial, erroneous and naive view of their country but put fex the term "Superhero" into the title in some way or the bragging about some military hardware the view count will be 2-3 million or more and a video titled "Whats on the inside of a soccer ball" has over 6 million views because thats a lot more interesting than videos like this and it says a lot

Something is missing . The reward : " The Iraqi Oil ". The horrific lie at the United Nation by Powell to finally sell the " product ".

Qaddafi ‘s rule provided free healthcare, education, apt to the newly weds, free land and livestock and seeds for anyone wants to farm, free housing, free healthcare and higher education abroad to those who pursued it, transformed 1/5 of literacy rate to 86%, women’s rights, terrorism free country, built the state of the art irrigation system middle of the desert, highest standard of living in all of Africa, it was better than Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Russia report indicated and he did all these under tight sanctions forced upon by western ruling elites based on the fake air line bombing. Saddam and the Iraqi society wasn’t far behind minus the sanctions again. So we deliberately smear them, create hate and fear next to their names who are well beloved by their people, hands down much more popular than any US president I can think of, says a lot about the collective influence of a group who goes away with it when it’s clearly a deliberate massacre!
