as youll see within every BTS album you will find solo songs from all the members. even now their solo albums are still considered BTS projects because BTS is still a group. Suga suffers from social anxiety, they even cancelled a concert in their earlier years because Suga was having a panic attack in the bathroom and was actually taken to the hospital. he had a fear of going out there on stage. so Suga once said in an interview that he wanted to make money as a producer making music but he didnt want to be famous. that he was ok even in BTS being in the back ground while letting others shine as long as his music was heard. so Suga is a person who suffered in order to bring his music to the world. many BTS songs are either written or produced by Suga and RM. he's come a long way with his mental health but it hasnt gone away. i believe hes learned to manage his symptoms , and maybe has had therapy. i believe he had said he suffers social anxiety, depression, OCD and i think ADHD. so he's seriously an inspiration to all of us that may suffer similar conditions, that if he can do it maybe we can too

That’s incredible and gives hope as well since Darian and I both have ADHD. I am a introvert and have a hard time in groups and social situations. Even doing this YT channel has been a struggle and a learning experience for me. I am getting more comfortable in front of the camera the more videos we make. It’s a work in progress.

thats awesome. im glad your doing this and its helping . i too suffer social anxiety, depression , ocd and PTSD. and although im a nurse and work with the public I have a hard time having any connection. i feel distant and just go in do my job and go home. i dont form attachments to people. and although i feel empathy for my patients I dont become attached. Suga speaks to me on such a deep level. BTS as a whole do too, but all affect me differently. ive never been attached to anything but my children , but BTS swooped in and clutched at my heart and their they remain. i dont care for K pop. but when I see BTS I see 7 wonderful humans, who succeeded despite so many obstacles and they speak to me and Armys on such a deep level. i owe BTS and Army a lot@@DANDJREACT

The summary y'all read at the beginning is a pretty big part of the meaning, but i interpreted the song (specifically the ending) with a little more. His greedy ambitious side (the one who shamelessly desires to become THE best) is still him, just as much as his scared anxious self is. He is a shining celebrity who lives for the stage while simultaneously being a normal person who can't handle the spotlight. It's amazing how much depth Suga and BTS in general put into their songs 💜

Yoongi literally said in an interview that he wanted to be rich, but not famous. He originally joined BigHit as a producer and was encouraged to be a part of BTS.... which he now LOVES, but not what he originally wanted. Most BTS albums have solo and sub-unit songs within them. "Map of the Soul 7" the album this is off of, has a solo song for all seven members as well as subunit songs, "RM and Suga", "Jimin and V", and "Jin, J-Hope, and JK", in addition to the songs with all seven members. SUGA has two full solo mix-tapes under the name Agust D ("Agust D" and "D-2") as well as "D-Day" which is his first full official solo album released last April, 2023. And side note to the original description you read in the beginning... this song is layered. I don't just see the "shadow" as representing the dark side of fame, but also your own personal dark side. The album, "Map of the Soul 7" is based off of the book (same title) about Swiss psychologist Carl Jung's ideas about self. Every person as a "persona", "shadow", and "ego" (which are the titles of the intro, interlude, and outro, of the album). As everyone praises your genius and talent, you also have the dark side of "do I deserve this?", "Why me?", "What happens when this all goes away?", but you can't run from that side since it is a part of you too.

i usually dislike repetitive lyrics but the part Suga kept repeating "I wanna be a rap star, I wanna be the top...i want it all mine, I wanna be rich,i wanna be the king, I wanna go win I wanna be" i really like it. It's like the voices in his brain looping & keep telling him all these, the repetitive actually fit the song/meaning. I like the change of beats & melody too, again express the different voices in him

Not hard to understand why Army is behind BTS's backs at all times, cause of the struggle they go through just to continue giving Army music and encouragement to us. They can easily retired comfortably but instead continue walking with us. How can you pay back that unconditional affection and love they have for Army? I think that's one of the reasons that we continue and we will continue walking with them. Love your reactions ❤ BTW I'm 59 and a Army since 2016 😊

What makes it worse is they probably cant trust anyone outside of family and company. Earlier this year RM had visited a Buddhist temple, it was supposed to be quiet, the chief monk end up going to Korean media and revealed some of the conversation between he and RM which is meant to be private. RM stated, he didnt know he'd being going to the press and will now go to other temples more quietly. He posted pictures of his visit, but after the incident, he removed them.

There's a deeper meaning to this song than just about fame and loneliness... this song is base on Carl Jung Map of the Soul Book..There's an explanation video of this.. i think from Xceleste, Bookish theory and DKDKTV.... what i recommend is Xceleste (MV and Songs analysis) and if you wanted a DEEPER analysis watch Bookish Theory. Shadow is part of Jung's Model of the Psyche that includes Persona (RM) and Ego (J-Hope). and it's very interesting topic. i highly recommend having a deep dive to it, cause this makes me love BTS more and more (and i hope you do too) 😊

this is my one of my fave songs of him bc it's just so humble, raw, and honest. if you like suga's solo stuff, you gotta listen to one of his songs from his latest solo album D-DAY called "Snooze", it's an encouraging song for his juniors, a reminder that there's no shortcut to success bc there will be darkness, sadness, and trials and it's okay to feel vulnerable, tired but most of all it's okay to pause and rest. it's really beautiful

Omg the cat bit is adorable! Used to have an orange cat and he was so handsome and friendly that the neighbors take care of him too even the kids hanging outside 🥺 sadly he passed away just this month.. I really miss him ❤

I’ll just add in to others comments that this is an amazing song. As a producer he really went all out on this one. It’s listed in n a vulture magazine article with the top sound engineers what was the most difficult song they’ve mixed. One of the 10 picked this sing saying BTS songs are always the most complex with 200+ tracks. But this one was especially complex and tricky as though it was three separate songs. Sugas brain is impressive and he even sometimes does his own mixing on his solo album projects.

I also think that the shadows in the video are his own shadows. Since Map of the soul is also a book about Carl Jung's psychoanalytic theory where shadows represent the dark side of our soul: pride, selfishness, everything that we hate ourselves and want to repress.

@@Davina2awake Some of our older videos we had technical issues with the audio and video. Our computer is old and doesn’t edit very well. So some of our videos got corrupted. In time we’ll get a new computer to resolve these issues. We put together a GoFundMe page to raise money for the computer. Hopefully soon we’ll be able to purchase it.
