22:46 they were so shocked because they were the first artists/k-pop group from non big 3 (YG, SM , JYP) to win Artist of the year (daesang) biggest award...it was huge!!! This was the first time a k-pop group from small company winning daesang!! Nobody ever thought that any group from small company, not coming from "big 3" companies would ever win a daesang.. that's why we say.. BTS paved the way l..they broke the barriers, they gave small company groups hope..they proved that underdogs can win..they can dream

I will never ever forget the first daesang they got on MMA and on MAMA that year. Especially for MAMA, the award show lasted so long that morning on live stream (morning for me). I'm waiting to see if BTS will win the daesang but it was time for me to drop others to school. Here I am in the car, with the phone playing the live stream (I drove safely btw) ... they announce BTS and here I am screaming my lungs off in the car out of excitement with a huge smile on my face. I have no clue if I looked like a crazy person driving 😆 As soon I was back in the house, I started to cry. I was so happy for BTS 💜 All that stress from voting paid off. This is one memory I stays in my heart and I tear up every time I see that footage of them winning. I'm so proud of BTS for all their achievements.

19:10, you need to remember that the clips you are watching are from when bts wasn’t HUGE and rich, bts’s company didnt have a lot of money at the time so it wasn’t possible for them to hire a dietician and it wasn’t possible for them to eat healthy every day, they ate what they could afford and did as their company told them. Suga has said that back then he blended chicken breast with some sort of juice and ate that for a while, now that they have money and people in the company that are their trainers/help them in the gym and create meal plans, bts can eat whatever they want, they have more options whereas back then that wasn’t possible. Also jimin has struggled with his body, he wanted to be thin/have abs because he wanted that cool/handsome image but now he has learned that the fans don’t care about his body, we care about his happiness and health, now that jimin knows that, he doesn’t care a lot about how people view him, he eats what he wants and works out when he wants. He has grown a lot and his mentality has changed and witnessing that happen makes me proud, he has come so far.

They were surprised coz it was their first time to win a Daesang or grand prize. Only groups from the big three companies used to win the Daesang like Album of the Year and Artist of the Year. But since they won a daesang in 2016, they continued to win until 2022. In fact in 2019, they won all the 4 Daesang Awards in MAMA and MMA. This coming December 2023, BTS and the members, Jimin, V Jungkook, JHope, Suga and I think Namjoon too are nominated for the Daesang Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the year and other categories. It's like BTS and BTS members against each other😂😂😂

18:50 You have to remember the dates/timing of these footages. That Jin vlog about losing weight was at the beginning of their career. They didn’t have that much. On a side note, a general rule for newer armys, we should keep in mind about finding out the original source and find out when it was shot/filmed before stating things as facts or coming to conclusions and spread it on social media. Once the misinformation is out there, it’s hard to take it back. I’ve seen myths revive every time a new wave of fans come in. Just a tip, content release doesn’t always mean it just happened. I’ve seen new released episodes of Run BTS that was technically filmed several months before but they just didn’t release it yet until later because they usually pause Run BTS releases during promotions.

they don't have much money back then, and that video of strict diet was from early days. They're different from other kpop group, but some mold is still the same. For example, the diet culture among korean celebrities. eating below your calorie needs, very low to have the "ideal" body type.

Take into consideration that they came from a small company that at one time was on the verge of bankruptcy. BTS were their company's only hope. Because they were from a small company & not the Big3 or even a medium-sized company, their company had no power in the industry, BTS weren't afforded promotions like groups from the big3 nor could they really get any real screen time... back then, that was how groups were promoted on tv, and you couldn't get big if you didn't get screen time... BTS were dismissed and looked down upon by just about everyone in the entertainment industry. They were targeted with ridicule and accusations from the very beginning by fandoms of other groups because they saw BTS as a threat to their fave groups. There were targeted projects from other fandoms to ruin BTS's concert tours and music releases. So yeah, it was a feat, and against all odds, BTS still rose above all it all and claimed those awards, the first group not from the Big3 to ever win those top awards. Their climb to success was not an easy one, but they made it through their own blood, sweat and tears, and of course, with ARMY.

If you think about it, them saying it was too early (regarding winning a grand prize) was actually really amazing. Since no group from a non-Big 3 company has ever won that award, the fact that their response was "it's too early" means that they already had that as a goal. They didn't think it was an impossibilty even though no other non-Big 3 group has managed this milesone before. They believed that they could have been the first if not one of the firsts instead of just assuming that they'd never gotten it since groups like that never get it. They were dreaming big.

I just re-read ,,Demian" and the images and messages used in that book are just insane. It's considered to be one of the best literary works out there, and it sparks many questions about life and philosophy. Some of them are really controversial and radical, so I guess it fits with Bts' rebellious nature.

Let me tell you guys : 1. Suga's commentary at the end is a BTS documentary... BTS released 3 documentaries 2. BTS won at the Mnet MAMA award against e*o and twi*e from big agencies winning at artist of the year... but there were 3 main trophies, and for song of the year that year twi*e won, album of the year e*o won.. there are a lot of award shows in Korea and many are given when they shouldn't be but he attends...and vice versa... when 2015 2016 2017.. there were still many who denied BTS's victory... especially big fandoms... That's why many people say that BTS was raised by the Army, but the international Army was the first to be noticed, They have few Korean fans, but as time goes by, they are blowing up abroad, so there are more and more Korean fans... along with their songs, many people korean also like it.. 3. here we see their struggles and their victories... but apart from this prejudice and other things from other fandoms or fans of foreign artists and others, many of them are not recorded... so if you follow them day by day like real fans then you will think more they deserve, so much more globally now than their famous seniors but can't surpass BTS...

I want to add.. you said their footage like this is very good.. wherever it comes from... it's from them every time they work wherever they are surrounded by cameras... well footage like that is used as a bangtan bomb on KZbin that most of them are aware of from their debut... to their documentary films too... and to show shows that they make themselves like season greetings and others... You could say that they work 2/3 of the 20 hours they follow on camera and release their daily activities on KZbin... how they live like they work hard I can't imagine.. but it seems like they are used to it and are themselves.. because we who see it can feel it even though it's different it can't be too far from that ..because they were the ones who created it... other idols also followed suit by releasing daily footage... and making their own reality shows like BTS... suga mentioned that in Suchwita.. @DANDJREACT, in defense of the Korean diet it is nothing like our American diet! Koreans eat more healthier than we do and believe me their food consist of a lot of sodium you said cut out sodium they eat ramen on a daily basis it’s A multi Billion dollar worldwide product that is consumed daily and if you ever looked at a Ramen package it has lots of sodium! In the beginning the CEO and owner of BIGHIT entertainment the company was almost bankruptcy the first three years was the most tightening of belt situation and idols have to eat on the run sometime so you grab a bowl of ramen or whatever you can for the next photo shoot for the next gig for the next TV show appearance for the next concert and frankly in the beginning BTS did not have a lot of food that they can consume where they were living in that small dorm if you saw the beginning of the Taylor mari Guide when they open the door of the refrigerator there was hardly any food in there! I don’t think they could’ve afford a nutritionist they were barely paying their employees let alone using the employees for extras and their employees vehicles for the music videos of BTS ! I’m sure after they started to get more popular and more money in revenue was coming in they did eat a lot better more healthier and they were not preoccupied with diet one thing I know about HYBE/BIGHIT labels they treat their employees and their Kpop idols well they can afford to do all those things now that they couldn’t do in the very first three critical years of BTS! A lot of the other K-pop companies do not treat their idols very well there’s been a lot of problems but I can pretty much agree that Mr. bang make sure that BTS in the other employees underneath and get the proper nutrition and they don’t have to do crazy dieting just wanted to state that because a lot of people think that being a idol is an easy thing and it’s not it takes a lot out of you emotionally physically and mentally! There are a lot of corrupt agencies in South Korea who do not treat their K-pop idols very well there’s a lot of controversy you should do a lot of stuff about that because there’s a dark side to K-pop! There are a lot of documentaries about the K-pop industry and South Korea not all of it is good but I’m not here to downsize BTS or their company they actually are one of the better companies that really do take care of their artists!💜

tysm for understanding that you can only be a BTS stan. not many kpop fans understand that because they love the entire kpop genre. so they like most songs because kpop do have a unique sound. hard hitting mixed with alot of deferent sound. most of the noise is unnecessary, it tend to ruin the song for me, but that is just me. but many people do like that, but it´s still not internationally loved. But BTS do every genere, they do have kpop sounded songs, but also western and latin vibe songs. they are really good at mixing kpop with western music. idk how to describe it. they capture every need from the fans. the reason why so many kpop fans hate army is because we wont support all kpop artist they do. but that is really not realistic to ask of anyone. you would never ask a JB fan, to also like ariana grande right? just because they both have pop music.. BTS is just deferent in a genere on their own. and no other music can make us feel like BTS can. it´s just that simple. this is no disrespect to any other groups.

I like how this episode does not single out Jimin, because we know all the members are very conscientious about gaining weight and being puffy/bloated for the camera. Certain narratives were perpetuated and we have fans constantly and invasively telling grown men how to manage their diets and bodies. 🙄

@@iamarmytinyctzentheb I agree that would be ideal but we don’t choose the songs or the order of the songs we watch. Our Patreon members vote every Monday for their Top 3 Favorite songs to be played. Then every Friday we have a raffle where our Patreon members submit their favorite songs to be chosen in the raffle. Finally every Thursday our KZbin subscribers get to vote for their favorite song to be played. Every Monday we do one of the RoB episodes. Once we complete all 21 episodes we’ll move onto another series of BTS shows to react to. Every Wednesday we do one long form video. Typically a guide or explanation video which our Patreon members suggest to us. Hope this helps you to better understand our schedule and how we react to our songs. If you guys react to the Bts storyline then you will get to understand how all the Bts songs are connected, I remember when you guys seemed so confused about the Bts song “I need you” if you watch Bts storyline you will most likely understand what their songs are about and how they are connected in a way ❤

Exactly! Only BTS’ albums have all the songs charted at the Billboards, UK charts, Japan charts and South Korea’s chart. They’re also the only artists with an all kill ranking no.1 at all charts in South Korea simultaneously. Also, when BTS is having a comeback (new album release)... other agencies tend to have a different release date for their artists. It is best to have their idols’ comeback 2 or 3 weeks after BTS’ comeback to be able to have a chance to win no.1 at any music shows. The only time they could win against BTS was when BTS had to stop the promotion coz they are doing their world tour. No offense meant to other idols but that’s the truth. BTS is the best! There’s nothing like BTS!💜💜💜

I hope I don't get hate, but SM Entertainment established the Idol System which then was emulated by other management companies. A lot of the manufacture of "perfect" Idols which has pervaded the industry and which has led to extremely unhealthy dieting came from other corporations adopting SM's game plan. The main idea of SM was if they could create physically perfect and behaviorally stunning Idols to market to females, great financial rewards would result An entire industry could profitably emerge with female audiences being the main drivers. Idols could become objects of fantasy with their music being somewhat secondary. To support this in many cases the corporations not only composed the predominantly romance related music but also created circus surrounding it. If maintained correctly, girls would spend and become emotionally invested. And part of that was accepting that with being invested comes judgementalism. Hairpin triggers on the internet became part of the calculus. As to BTS members dieting, I cannot say that they did so due to Big Hit policy. I do not know. What I can say is in an environment such as that which surrounded BTS, self-regulation of food intake certainly would be something BTS members might have chosen to engage in, especially as you saw with Jimin.
