Honestly, it's hard to watch this. How can you be rockers when you judge everything. A lot of rockers actually love Twice, because they're not one sound, and one concept. What you are listening to are still in their younger, "bubblegum pop" concept. And to be perfectly clear, you got it wrong from the get-go. It's actually the opposite, Blackpink has mostly children and young fans as they have one concept and it's the concept of "girl crush" that is easy to be accepted by the western crowd and international fans because it's edgy, thinking it's 'dark' & 'adult'. While Twice's music, concept and growth, evolves with them and their fans, while never losing their individual sound. I don't know how you guys get Ghost, and Pulp Fiction (and even Leon the Professional is in the references) then still think it's for kids. Twice songs have actual meanings, just because it's not relevant to you, doesn't mean it's not relevant to someone. Love portrayed in the form by media isn't restricted or limited to America, or to teenagers. This is only a few, of why, this was hard to watch.

movie reference (not in order) 'princess diary', 'ghost', 'La Boum' (france), 'pulp fiction', 'love letter'(japanese), 'leon the professional', 'la la land', 'romeo+juliet'. (even commercial break in 'rap' part. :P) i think 'what is love?' EP. all have 'swing' genre as foundation. ('ho', 'dejavu') for more 'rock' base sound, 'ready to be' might be fit you more ('got the thrill', 'blame it on me', 'crazy stupid love') also 'between1&2' EP. ('queen of heart', 'gone'). while 'ready to be' kind of 'collection' of classic moments, 'between1&2' kind of 'tribute' to Y2K era. both EP. are solid. (they have a lot of solid albums) but they did a lot music with many genre (base), rock, blue, jazz, disco, r&b, bossa-nova, funky, etc. (even 'psychedelic' in 'fancy you' EP. this genre is super rare in this time, at lease for me anyway. :P) that why their music are so fun for me. have a good day. :)

@@DANDJREACT That's unfortunate. Since you two are rock enthusiasts, I would've recommended "I Can't Stop Me" first. It is very 80s synthwave pop with rock elements, and it's more mature than what you get with "What is Love?" -- that song came out in 2018, and it's very far from the music they're making nowadays.

Ghost is Patrick Swayze prime! there are korean movie references too. Each singer is just singing about their own ideas on what love is via mass media portrayals, as in, how every girl grows to learn and interpret what love is

I just do not like the vibe of the guy linking everything to America, thinking that America is the world (sounds snobbish to me). Sorry, the references includes romance movies from several countries. And they only do the dance moves from the movies in the music video, the actual moves that went viral are original choreography made in Korea.

Thanks for giving the girls music a chance, they have been in the industry for 7 years now (going to 8) and have escaped the dreaded K-Pop 7 year curse. For discography, it's best to listen to it in release order so you can see there growth thru the years. Their more recent releases from 2019 until present is the "grown up" Twice which you may much more akin to. The fact that they included "Leon the Professional" on this MV is Hardcore for me.

Hey guysss. Okay, so I am back w some more info and stuff AS USUAL lol. I am an ULT BLINK as u guys know but I am also a MULTI-STAN so I do have interest in many groups apart from BLACKPINK. So, lemme give you some information about TWICE. Firstly, NO babes TWICE is not a “kid version” of BLACKPINK lol. This is actually one of their OLDER songs btw. Also, in kpop there are certain concepts some groups follow which is why you maybe thought TWICE made music for “kids.” Actually, TWICE just focuses more on cute concepts but generally make all types of concept-based music. For example, BLACKPINK’S music comes from the concept of MAINLY “GIRL CRUSH." Then, there are other girl groups who focus on the same concept but some groups do various or different concepts. Now, TWICE has many many many genres of songs but do a lot of bubblegum pop, retro, and aegyo (cute) music concepts. Also, their songs are listened to by people of ALL ages. Please keep in mind MANY ppl listen to kpop who are even older than you guys! Moreover, TWICE is known as Korea’s (National girl group). They are 9 members under JYP Entertainment. Btw, there are “the big three” companies in kpop that are mainstream companies. YG Entertainment is one of them (as you guys know BLACKPINK is under YG), then there is HYBE (BTS is under Hybe), and then there is JYP (TWICE and Stray Kids are under JYP). So, you guys have mainly been reacting to mainstream kpop groups from NOTABLE and famous K-pop companies. Twice debuted on October 20th of 2015. They are a little under than “one year” older than BLACKPINK as BLACKPINK debuted in August of 2016. TWICE’S fandom name is “ONCE” btw. BLACKPINK and TWICE members are actually great friends in real life and often support one another. However, BLINKS do have fandom wars with ONCES a lot. SO just be careful not to mention BLACKPINK too much when reacting to TWICE lol just as we tell u guys across the board when reacting to any other group. Fandom wars can start even with TWICE vs BLACKPINK bc sometimes ppl love saying that “TWICE is BETTER than BLACKPINK.” I love both groups and feel like they both make completely different music. However, there are things about BLACKPINK that just stands out for me more than TWICE but TWICE are still a really good and POPULAR kpop group. Usually, the stats would be #1 BLACKPINK #2 TWICE for girl groups in that ORDER but ppl (ONCES and even some ARMY) would argue with that lol. Anyways, I HIGHLY recommend one of TWICE'S recent songs to react to next like “I CAN’T STOP ME” or “SET ME FREE” (their newest comeback song). The 9 members of twice: Nayeon 8:12: Lead Vocalist, Lead Dancer, Center, Korean, 27 years old Jeongyeon 4:06 : Lead Vocalist, 26 years old, Korean Momo 4:26 : Main Dancer, Sub Vocalist, Sub Rapper, 26 years old, Japanese Sana 6:16 : Sub Vocalist, 26 years old, Japanese Jihyo 8:20 : Leader, Main Vocalist, 26 years old, Korean Mina 2:14 : Main Dancer, Sub Vocalist, 26 years old, American Japanese ( Mina was born in San Antonio, Texas but moved to Japan as a toddler). Dahyun 6:40: Lead Rapper, Sub Vocalist, 24 years old, Korean Chaeyoung 7:28 : Main Rapper, Sub Vocalist, 24 years old, Korean Tzuyu 6:27 ( pronounced Chewie): Lead Dancer, Sub Vocalist, Visual, Maknae (Korean term for the youngest member), 23 years old, Taiwanese By the way, they did not just reference American films but international movies as well as they wanted to represent their international audiences. These were the 8 MOVIES referenced in the music video: 1.The Princess Diaries starring the member Nayeon 2.Ghost starring the member Jeongyeon 3.The French Film “La Boum” starring the member Mina 4.Pulp Fiction starring the member Sana 5.Romeo + Juliet starring the member Tzuyu 6.Japanese 1995 film called “Love Letter” starring starring the member Jihyo 7.La La Land starring the member Momo 8.English-French Produced film “Léon: The Professional” starring the members Chaeyoung and Dahyun.

SM, YG and YJP are the Big3, Hybe is currently one of the entertainment companies that generates the most money (thanks to BTS in the beginning and more now also thanks to other groups under his label) but by far he has the influence-power and respect (from the Korean public) that the Big3.

You really have no idea this group in bubblegum pop era they have really big male fanbase. They’re very popular among military men back in the day but since they changed their images they gained a lot of female fans instead. This is 1st K-pop girl group sold out stadiums in US following BTS.

Wow. The disrespect. You are free to your opinions, but it's not necessary to talk down about a group and compare them in a negative light to others. Imagine thinking it's cool to say Twice is a kids version of Blackpink and that you can't imagine adult men watching this. Don't stick all men into your small minded category. Save that for yourselves. And they aren't 'mimic-ing' American movies. It's an homage to films. And let's not pretend that America hasn't 'borrowed' things from other countries to use themselves. God, ya'll must be from some backwater hick town where America is the only and greatest nation in the world. Makes me wonder if you started listening to Kpop simply for the views. I came to this channel for the BTS reacts, but I like starting from the older videos to see what else there is. This is my first impression of you lot. Not a great start. I hope you grow mentally and emotionally by the time we hit BTS because this isn't gonna fly.

@@DANDJREACT oh no! Don't get me wrong, i absolutely love and enjoy all twice songs. The thing is, twice has been active for 8 years or so, which means they have grown up a ton since their early days. What is love is indeed on the cuter/poppier side, which is a genre lots of people are into but u prefer their mature sound. There are other songs like i can't stop me or feel special, which, in my opinion, are better. I still enjoy their older songs tho! Another thing to touch on is that twice has lots of fans, and surprisingly, most of them are adults in their 30s/20s. I haven't been into kpop for long but i was surprised at the amount of people that were onces (twice fans), they are just generally loved inside the kpop community, or at least it seems like it. Anyway, since most of them are people who work and stuff, their concerts sell out fast, and when i mean fast, it's like impossible to get tickets. In the recent concerts, their tickets sold out within hours and it was fan pre-sale which basically means it wasn't opened for general sale.
