The Two Ronnies, playing in and causing havoc with the Hendon Symphony Orchestra - I think from Series 9 which was broadcast Dec '81 - Jan '82.

Absolutely brilliant entertainment. I wonder just how many takes it took to piece it all together. I love every skit these two did together. I really don't think any other duo has come close. Miss both of them.

A fantastic piece of comedy. If I want a good laugh I 'dip' into here to watch it. NEVER fail to make me smile. What EVER anyone else says, I think it's timeless.

Check out a piece from the two Ronnie called Tooting Carmen (a parody of Bizet’s “carmen”) and another called The Boys in The Ballet (a humorous attempt at Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite)

it's one thing to come up with the words to go along with the music, but to memorize and sing them with such precision is truly amazing to behold.

Search for: The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town. Written by Spike Milligan. The Worm that Turned, featuring Diana Dors. Detective series Piggy Malone & Charley Farley. All were comic series within their comedy sketch shows. The Musical Comedy sketches are very funny too, see Abdication Street. The comedy is "of its time", 'though! You may perhaps like the comic Irish T.V. series Father Ted, too.

Thought this was brilliant when I saw it as a child. Actually it's crap. Badly written, badly performed - Ron C looks very uncomfortable throughout - and obviously (and badly) edited together from dozens of takes. Written by Ron B, I think, but not at his best. Michael Flanders did a far better job of setting spoof words to the Mozart horn concerto too.
