The first story reminds me of when my grandfather let a stranger live with him- the guy wasn’t a wendigo, but he was a criminal 😀

Many years ago my aunt, whose tendencies toward charity and general do-gooderness often seemed to impede her common sense, declared the day before Thanksgiving that she was going to invite three or four "less fortunate people" to dine with our family. When pressed as to exactly what that meant, she explained that tomorrow morning--i.e., the morning of a Thanksgiving--she was going to drive down to the local homeless camp, load a few random strangers into her car, and bring them back to her house where she would be serving the Thanksgiving meal to my extended family. My grandfather told her that was the worst idea he had ever heard, and that as the mother of young children she could no longer afford to be so naive about safety; that bringing complete strangers into a house filled with children was criminally irresponsible; that if she wanted to help out homeless people then she should go down to the shelter and volunteer, like someone with half the goddamn sense god gave a moron; and that if he arrived tomorrow on Thanksgiving at my aunt's house to find random people in it, homeless or otherwise, he would pack up all of his grandkids and take them to eat at McDonald's. I don't know exactly how things played out from there, but there were no "less fortunate people" invited to that or any other Thanksgiving dinner that I ever attended.

In the first story, the thing I found more frustrating than the mother's naivety is her inability to admit her grave mistake and just put the blame onto her son!

Just wanted to give a comment and let you know that I love your narrations. I just ordered a sweatshirt from your store for added support to your channel! Can't wait for it to arrive. Honestly can't believe that you aren't at 100 thousand subscribers yet. Your voice and stories are awesome. I'm excited to be apart of it before you get some well deserved recognition and traction. I think you should be one of the most respected narrators in the dark and mysterious story tellers. I can't wait for the 3+ hour windego/ skinwalker video. Thank you for all the stories. I listen to you every night before bed! Kill it my guy.

Excellently narrated! Discovered your channel yesterday and loving your work :) But what was the sub plot with the sister in the 2nd story all about? Did the writer forget about that and just abandon the idea? It seemed integral from the beginning and got mentioned again later but then nothing happened with it.

The whole "and the police didn't question anybody about my sister's brutal murder" bit took it from scary to stupid. I love this kind of story but that's just dumb, it's my least favorite trope in these stories, I can sort of get it when they die out in the woods but whoever sent in the story would have done better to say something along the lines of and the police didn't believe me and my parents are mad because my "crazy" story meant they never caught him. Sigh, you did an awesome job of reading these though, except for the silly bits it was awesomely scary.

That was my one criticism of both stories. It just didn’t make sense for the police to see such a brutal murder scene and not investigate more. There is, of course, the belief that the government steps in to shut down these investigations, but still, I kind of expected more about the investigation.
@TheMisanthropist69
@TheMisanthropist69 2 жыл бұрын
As far as we know, they could've been questioned and simply didn't mention it (within the story's universe of course, as it's obviously fictional). Just because the narrator was there, doesn't mean he'd be the prime suspect. After all, there's no motive nor any physical evidence of any wrongdoing by the narrator (i.e. no blood on the narrator), plus there's a missing "homeless man" who was a stranger to the family with them before the sister's murder and has now disappeared--he'd be the most obvious suspect, even without the Wendigo stuff.

You never ever let strange homeless people know where you live, unless you welcome trouble of all kinds. They have their own information highway and trade stories and tips about soft people and who to burglarize or take advantage of in general. I know a guy who brought a laborer home from home Depot and edured a nightmare involving his house, his wife and kids, his truck, angry neighbors and all because he showed that guy where he lived.
@demsandlibsareswinecancer4667
@demsandlibsareswinecancer4667 2 жыл бұрын
So the man is a punk then? There would be no dealing with stupid laborers from anywhere. They show up anywhere near my property without me bringing them there then I shoot them and I bury them. My Wife and Kids even have to break stride in their life for a split second because of some douchebag and he is going to die slowly and miserably in ways he never knew could be possible. Why is everyone so f****** useless all the time? And more importantly, why are they and everyone else apparently so effing all right with being so effing useless? Always an excuse to kiss away any real responsibility or accountability for one's self, family, or actions.

I have to say, these were amazing stories but the first one doesn’t sound like a Wendigo, it sounds like a skin walker, or more closely to what I’ve seen people describe as a flesh taint. Unfortunately the flesh taint doesn’t seem to be a real myth (I can’t find any records outside of a few Reddit stories of it being mentioned), however one of the trends that seems to differ “flesh taint” stories from skin walker stories is that flesh taints seem to sort of possess people, turning their eyes milky white and causing them to rot from the inside. Like I said, this particular myth has nothing but Reddit stories calling it something different, but still fascinating that certain traits only get associated with certain monsters.

I definitely think it's a wendigo... Wendigos start as people, and it normally goes like they eat human flesh and a spirit possesses them and changes their body into a wendigo.... That's what seems to happen in this story. The "man" was getting taller, smelling worse, and getting more hungry for human flesh
@lotuslady9821
@lotuslady9821 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely a wendigo, smell of death (rotting flesh) he appeared to grow taller, usually only happens after they’ve eaten human flesh, they do appear grey in color and they become skeleton-like due to starving constantly. Only feature that didn’t really fit would be the black teeth.
