Two SEIKO SKX Budget Alternatives In 2024 - Are They Any Good?

I have the sharkey and it is amazing! I was pissed at first because I ordered the black dial on a jubilee and got the blue dial on an oyster. I was not upset for very long, now it is one of my favorite watches. absolutely love it. I also plan on soon ordering the cadisen because I have as couple cadisen watches and I love those too!

Eventually someone has to ask the question, why are these watches so cheap. Is there somebody somewhere working flat out all day for a bowl of rice?

I think you could look at it from the other way around, why are some brands as expensive as it is? With Seiko you get an established brand with a long history and you pay for a bit of that brand heritage. Now I don’t own a Cadisen but I do have a Pagani Design (in the same ballpark I guess). If you would buy the parts yourself and build the watch yourself you would get a price that’s way lower then the Seiko. I think Chinese brands like these buy these parts in bulk at a lower price and put them together. Now is the quality and finishing as good as the Seiko? That’s debatable and can be different per watch of course. As for my Pagani, it’s holding up really well. Doesn’t have any scratches, holds time well (it’s a quartz), and looks stunning. The only thing I dislike is the metal bracelet but that can be swapped out easily. Chinese watches are really good these days and if you don’t care about brands they are really good alternatives with often better specs like sapphire crystals. I’ve also been eyeing the Cadisen watches but I might get one after this video.

@@bas735 I used to be into the Chinese brands until I found out that they exist in name only, and buy everything in from the same factories that supply the lucrative fake market. Ever wonder why they're mostly high end copy's like Rolex - AP etc? That's because this is what these companies produce the most of for the fake market, making them cheap. This by the way came from an acquaintance who does a lot of business in China and was thinking about launching his own brand, until he saw the underbelly of the shady world he was about to enter. There are exceptions. Apparently Forsining are a good honest proper watch making company, although their designs are an acquired taste
