Jim Stone showcases a two-step blocking footwork available for advanced middle blockers when presented with a fast set. This two-step crossover approach begins with a turn step, a crossover and then a single-leg jump in order to cover the remaining distance. The blocker, because they are late to the ball, will have to push their hands outside of the body to reach the ball and turn the hands in. The curvature in the air, or "shaping" the ball back to the middle of the court, ensures the block lands inside the court.
