So sad! I'm sure they didn't deserve this. Glad to see you adopted them. We have gotten almost all our puppies from the shelter( always puppies no matter their age.) Our last and current puppy is a Siberian Husky. We love our baby! That is what she has become. Her name is Bella Rose. Bella means beautiful and that is what she is inside and out. So spoiled now. She has one blue eye and one brown one. She sure has my husband's number. She can usually anything she wants out of him! She sleeps on the foot of our bed even though she has a puppy bed. They can be the best companions if you have patience and love them and train them. It takes a little work, but well worth the effort. They have so much love to give! They just need to be given a chance. They seem to know and are so grateful! Good luck with this adoption they needed this chance!

I don't have dogs but my two felines came from the local shelter. I wouldn't think of going elsewhere. We don't rescue them. They save us. Adopt, you will be helping an animal but doing yourself a huge favor. Your best friend is waiting for you.

All kill shelters need to be closed,it defeats the very meaning of what a shelter is, its not a jail, its a place that needs to care for the inhabitants until they are adopted afterall there plight usually stems from human neglect, or abuse! I can't imagine not wanting these two. Considering this is from 2013, I am sure they found homes but just as an FYI for someone who is hunting a dog for the first time. Rescuing a bonded pair is a great way to go. If you are a person who wants to be able to board the dogs once or twice a year so you can take a vacation without the pups, it makes it so much easier. They have each other, so you don't have to worry about them totally stressing out. Board them once for 2 days a couple of weeks before your trip, so they understand what is happening and will do well together. If you are lucky enough that money is not a real tight issue and you have never had dogs before, it might be hard to understand but, aside from the expense involved, 2 can be much easier than one.

They're so sweet, they need to be together...please someone truly good take them both home...best gift you'll ever receive. PEOPLE, LET'S GET PUPPY MILLS ALL SHUT DOWN and those people pay for their crimes! I know puppy mills aren't exactly the issue here but they're the main "hemorrhage" source behind dog overpopulation. Best to Maisy and Bear, love them.

OMG, what a weird coincidence. My last Pitbull of almost 18 years what is a red nose Staffordshire Terrier named bear who looks literally identical to this one, same eyes, same expression, same eyes, same face, same mannerisms. I swear I was looking at my little bear bear the only difference is that mine was slightly lighter. He was literally the best dog ever. I can't believe no one would take him for so long. All of my dogs except 1 are shelter rescues. Even a Maltese my mom got when I was 13 who hated men. She warmed up eventually and was really nice when she went blind and had to help her. I currently have a shih tzu who we got as a puppy for free from a friend who had a litter. Every other one was a shelter dog. My terrier mix was the sweetest thing we got in key west Florida. Loved chasing the ducks. Lol. My other dog is a mini schnauzer mix who couldnt be adopted to a home with kids under 7. He is nervous from someone being mean before we got him, but he loves my nephew when he visits and loves my daughter who is 11, he still wont let them hug them but most dogs hate that. He is my little shadow of course. I keep explaining to my daughter as she hasn't lived here but 6 months each dog was put in my bed when they were young at night instead of a crate so they stick to me like glue. I promised the next dog we get we will do that with her and her bed to give her a snuggle buddy. Of course is I teach her about the pack leader thing and letting the dogs know she is higher in the pack then they are may help.

OMG, Bear looks just like my baby Kuma (means "bear" in Japanese). I was in tears when I saw this video at work. Kuma is long gone and I wish I could have adopted them.
