I am pleasantly surprised at these two consecutive awards. I was with family and visited Fort Santiago and the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros. I liked the historical meaning of the "guardia civil" uniformed tourism personnel in the area and an old tree standing near the entrance to Fort Santiago. While the Pasig River is lined with new buildings, I found the river much cleaner but could still improve. Traffic management and parking areas still lacking and moves to improve air quality. I also like a cleaner Manila Bay and Roxas Boulevard.The old Senate and now a museum is a must see. I am an alumna of PNCHS near the old building of Manila City Hall. Congratulations to the city Manila and other adjoining cities!

Absolutely true but here's the other dark side. Extremely modern city next to shantee and poverty. Cleanliness not up to par with Singapore, Malaysia. Traffic is horrendous! Disparity of rich and poor is very evident here. Corruption is embedded forever in this place. Great people tho!
