Hi Steve, good luck with your apnea treatment. I have been using a CPAP machine since 2007. Over the years I have found that there are 2 things that are key to using the machine. 1. make sure you have a mask that fits good and is comfortable. It will likely take you a few tries to find the right mask. 2. make sure the pressure is set correctly.. Too little pressure and it won't help your apnea. Too much pressure and you will have air blowing out all over the place. It took me about a month to get used to using the CPAP machine. Now I can't sleep without it. Good luck!

Steve, I also have sleep apnea and recommend the res med 10. Had a AHI of 95 per hour. Since having the c pap machine my AHI dropped to 2 per hour. Give it time to get use to it. I'm a mouth breather and use the Vitera mask. The mask is the most important thing to get to fit right.
@jblyon2
@jblyon2 Жыл бұрын
Love my AirSense 10. The new 11 should be good too. Same guts apparently, just of course different consumable parts because of course they're different. Don't let them give you a Phillips! A friend just got his recall replacement Phillips unit and is in utter disbelief how horribly it's made. I'm down to an average AHI around 2 as well. They're not sure of the actual original number, but I recorded 38 events in just 40 minutes on a home sleep study device, and those tend to under count events. They just put me right in for an overnight titration without a separate full sleep study. Also, if your insurance is crap, or you catch a load of BS from a DME vendor, you can buy your own machine outright. That's what I did. I get the supplies off Amazon and Ebay. My insurance would only work with Lincare and if you think the government is incompetent you ain't seen nothin' till you deal with Lincare... In the end it's actually cheaper for me than getting supplies through my insurance, and there's no bullshit or headaches to deal with.
@aland680
@aland680 Жыл бұрын
@@jblyon2 I too buy my supplies through e bay. So much cheaper than dealing with the insurances requirements and deductibles. I totally agree with your comment on Phillips machines. Recalls on their machines are all over the internet. On the res med 11 a common complaint is the tank for the humidifier is too small and goes dry before you wake up and also patients are saying it noisier than the 10.

One thing about Florida...in SPITE of the storms; people still want to mass migrate there, because it ain`t New York, California, or Oregon! All of my insurance policies mention that they don`t pay-up in event of "War, Natural disasters, or insurrections.

Condo building a friend used to live in was totally destroyed in FL. Roof (almost brand new) was ripped clean off and the building was soaked from the top down. Total loss of the structure and the contents of every unit. It had a deep beach with a good 20 feet elevation from high tide to the bottom of the first floor. When the association's beach cam finally cut out the water was halfway up the first floor and the top half of the palm trees were bent 90 degrees from the wind. Insurance for both the association (building and grounds) and residents (belongings), which specifically covered named hurricanes, hasn't paid a damn penny yet!

You have to buy separate federal flood insurance. The vast majority don't buy it unless a mortgage company requires it. If they own the home with no mortgage or the mortgage company does not care, 90% of owners are too cheap or uninformed about flood insurance. Most flood damage is not beachfront, it is anywhere 60 miles from the coast.

Before you purchase a soclean machine for you resmed, do your homework. Resmed says it damages the machine and fail prematurely. They will not cover under warranty. I had the machine for my resmed 10, now I have the resmed 11. Yor sleep will improve tremendously with the machine. Just got to get use to it.

So true, round bowls seem to be a rare need when you compare them to an elongated bowl and the advantages they have. Not to mention, the ADA height of the newer bowls are a bunch more comfortable to use unless you are under 5 feet tall. Most folks are close to 6 feet than they are 5 feet and the difference is getting up from the bowl as its height benefits much. $200 because the gasket was placed on the outside of the new flush valve !

If that guy can’t visualize where to put a gasket to prevent leak-by, then I wouldn’t ever want to be in a place where he “did electrical”. C’mon man, toilet seals may not be rocket science, but they require a few brain cells and a tiny bit of common sense. Hope wifey lives to see their 50th before that joint burns down. Is that why he keeps it so dark - to avoid running juice thru his “electrical work” and starting a fire? SMDH
