Yeah it would use more ink, and if you’re making two screens anyway might as well not have to layer inks

What kind of low-tack adhesive do you use to hold the fabric in place? I've got several types of automotive and 3M sprays, but I think they would be far more permanent than would be wise.

So in order to print on black we need to do a white layer first?
@NorCalScreenPrintSupply6 ай бұрын
Not necessarily. If you print white and black, you can print it on any color shirt. Black ink would be best light color tees. Thanks!

When I hit the eraser tool I don’t get any option to rasterise. When I try to add bitmap it merges all images together and locks them.

For light colored shirts such as light gray, the image would not be inverted. Thanks!

I see you using the power washer to wash out the screen after exposing it would it blow out the halftone also?
@NorCalScreenPrintSupply2 жыл бұрын
If the emulsion is fully exposed, it can be washed out with a power washer. If emulsion is uner-exposed, a power washer would blow out the halftones much easier.

how do you lower your greyscale opacity to avoid dot gain ?
@NorCalScreenPrintSupply Жыл бұрын
Hmmm not sure I understand. I usually would not lower greyscale opacity. If you want to reduce the color information and print less information, you could select the art in Photoshop and use the curves function to lessen the darkness. To prevent dot gain, use higher mesh count and keep print strokes to a minimum - just enough to clear the ink through the screen and onto your shirt. Hope that helps!
@rixal78 Жыл бұрын
@@NorCalScreenPrintSupply so the key is curves, higher mesh count and minimalize stroke.. thanks bro 🥰

After it was exposed you place it on the dip tank? Would that soften the whole emulsion? Do u do that on all screens not only with half tones and how long it’s left in the tank? Thanks for the great videos
@NorCalScreenPrintSupply2 жыл бұрын
We actually pre-develop every screen in the dip tank. If the screen has been exposed properly, only the unexposed emulsion will soften. If the screen has been exposed long enough, it can be left in the dip tank quite a long time (I'm sure I've left one in for at least half an hour).. But usually 1 - 2 minutes will do the trick. Thanks!

Hey, I was wondering if the gray gradients in this two-color screen print would turn out more detailed and smoother if you are making more than a black and white screen. For example adding a screen with gray or even adding more screens with different shades of gray? Or is that just more work and the result is worse than just a two-color screen print? Would love to hear your opinions and why's! :-)
@NorCalScreenPrintSupply Жыл бұрын
Hey, great point. A better print can definitely be achieved with more shades of gray. More work, but worth it to get the best print possible.
@JimCliffe Жыл бұрын
Duotone BW photos use black, silver grey and white. They're beautifully toned, but It may be more work than needed for screen prints.

If you make a table template you don't have to use a t square every time. Lay film down on table, place screen on top of film and voila. Hit me up if you want a video.
