Ya... The video didn't show it but it was pretty steep of the edge when Melissa was driving. She did a good job but I was a little distracted and didn't do a great job with the drone. :-)

Melissa has some wonderful expressions when on a ledge. It was actually tricky trying to drone, watch the road and keep an eye on Melissa! The video didn't show the edge very well but it was great. You will have to take that trail! Thanks for watching. :-)

When you go in on Hunt Mountain Road if you turn left on a little dirt track after the switchbacks that little road will take you up into copemans tomb it is really pretty you can look out over the cliffs looking towards Antelope Butte ski area

Thank you for the information... Our great grandfather had a cabin up in that area. He used to run sheep up there leaving his teenage boys on the mountain all summer to tend the sheep.

We love that tune too. Sometimes we worry that we use many of the same tunes. We try to keep track and vary it up but that's hard to do with so many songs in each show and so few great ones to choose from on KZbin studio. Thanks for watching and leaving us a great comment. We went right to 21 to see what song you like!

We have quite an interest in our tracks so we put maps in our shows. If you stop the show and zoom in, you should be able to see where we went. Elgin and I are creating an affordable book of maps and information about the first 30 episodes to give fans the ability to follow our tracks down the two-tracks! Look for the book sometime in the winter. Thank you for your interest and comment.

Would love nothing more than to do Meeteetse to Dubois... Problem is there are no roads. Kirwin is as far as you can go. Going around the mountain, you have to go through the Wind River Indian Reservation. The Union Pass area does look like fun. We will have to consider it. Thanks!

What is the most scenic route in the Big Horn Mountains that a beginning Jeeper could enjoy?
@wyomingjeepers
@wyomingjeepers Жыл бұрын
For a beginner that is looking for a very scenic drive, there are a lot of options… I would suggest going to the Shell Creek Ranger Station and take road 17 over Snowshoe Pass and on to Crooked Creek Hill. Go to the bottom of the hill and there is a fork in the road. Take the left road #271 to Shell Reservoir visit and go on another mile to Adelaide Lake on the same road, #271. There is one climb here you will want to use 4WD but nothing dangerous. For a beginner, I would turn around and go back out to the bottom of Cooked Creek Hill and get back on road 17 going south to the Medicine Lodge lake and Paintrock Lakes. Drive clear to the end of the main road (17 to the Lower Paintrock Lake). Then come back to the Medicine Lodge Lake and get on road 344. Follow this for 4.3 miles and there is a fantastic view over Trout creek. Stay on 344 and take it down the mountain. (This road is also called the Cold Spring Road). A few miles before you get to Hyattville, you can turn off to see Medicine Lodge Campground. Go through the campground and you can see some pictographs which are very cool. Look at a forest service map… Here is a free version showing this area. caltopo.com/map.html#ll=44.50419,-107.43947&z=14&b=f16a

I enjoy the Shell Campground to Paintrocks Campground drive. It takes just over an hour in a car, though an SUV or 4x4 would be smoother to drive on this road. You Jeep would handle it no sweat and it is a nice country type drive. We plan to put out a book later this year or in the winter of 2024 that will include maps to our favorite places to help answer many questions we receive such as yours. :-) Thanks for watching.

This trail is near Beaver Creek which is close to Shell, WY. It also goes to the Hunt Mountain Road on top of the bighorns. It also takes another couple of FS roads before coming out near Owen Campground. Detailed directions will be coming out in a book hopefully later this spring.

We try to stay on public roads and if we cross private land, we let you know. So far, I think we only have one show with private land and that is Wyoming's Wild Beauty and the Bischoff family in Lovell has been kind enough to our fans to allow them access. No promises but you can always ask. Thanks for following us on KZbin.

One other point... Most of these Forest Service roads have a date that they open the roads... I know this one has a gate and it only opens after a certain date in the spring but I don't recall the date... Late July, you should be good or you can contact them.
