because like if you fill the taps seperately it would take more time. the total time that is 75/8 hrs is the time taken by both of the taps to fill the tank if you only switch on the smaller one it would logically take more time than 75/8 , x > than 75/8, and also the larger tap can not be negetive so x - 10 is not negetive so x + x -10 should be greater than 75/8 and not equal to it. HENCE PROVED
