Not good for prepping. Cell sites are the first systems to go down. HAM radios are much better for that use.

Can you speak to people that are not programmed into your group? Or does that require the factory to adjust/re-program the radio(s) ?
@stayalivesurvival7550Ай бұрын
@@marcinmichigan2772 From what I understand and have read, they have to be programmed the same way… In that let say a group of hunting buddies wants to talk… Everyone would pitch in and place one order to be on the same frequency or “number” as the others… Or if one has got several instances where they are group related ie hunting fishing special events or even travel… Then you could buy a couple of them and distribute to friends and family as event occurs… I also understand money doesn’t grow on trees and some like me can’t afford to by 5 or 6 of them… They work extremely well and are ALOT easier than calling three of four people in a group on a cell phone…

If you want these to work after the first year, you will need to pay $50 a unit per year.

They will NOT work without the cell network!!!! End of Story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right. Idk what dudes thinking. No way will these work without the cell towers working. He had to have had a cell tower they could reach and the signal jumped off them because if all towers went down these things wouldn't be worth a damn
@centralfloridagmrsАй бұрын
True. They don't broadcast over the air like Walkie Talkies do. They're nothing more than Cell phones
@TeamEvansHealthАй бұрын
@@fromashestoangels378and the towers WILL go down. I was a responder after Katrina in NOLA. We were without cell OR tower based police radios for a month. Rapid Radios should be shut down for false advertising and these fanboy KZbinrs are letting their viewers way down.
@marcinmichigan2772Ай бұрын
I am betting that these are line of sight radios too - just that the line of sight is a cell tower on one end.

You know you're misleading. There's no monthly plan but there is a yearly cost. Why didn't you mention that?

glad somebody caught this misinformation. I guess everyone wants their 5min of fame . Sadly some ether through shear ignorance and or greed fail to read and or explain the fine print. Yes the over price you pay for these worthless radios come with a year of service then you pay $50.00 per year ( don't know if its per radio but wouldn't be surprised ) They rely on a cellular network for communication ( good luck getting coverage anywhere other than a highway , city or town ) In other words if your cellphone you already pay too much for don't work nether will these radios .

And if the cell phone goes down so does the service

My question for you is, if the Rapid Radio uses cellular technology to communicate, how could this device function without cell towers? I think they operate just like a cell phone, don't you think so? does this device have the ability to use satellite acquisition? ThankYou.

Dude, $400 for 2 radios that won't work if the grid is down? They won't even work at all NOW where I live because there is no cell phone signal. You must have been paid to shill these.
@jameswiknich40742 ай бұрын
When cell towers go down, they will, too. The work on the LTE network. With no power no radio. Also $50.00 per year per radio. And it's a call communicator, not a radio...

Sorry to tell you. But the radios you’re advertising are NOT survival radios. Ham radio is the real SHTF radios. Anything with a chip or a yearly cost requires a reception from a tower. If the grid goes down, those radios would be the first thing to go… along with your cell phones. Nothing substitutes ham radio for SHTF events
@KubotaL40605 ай бұрын
Read up on these "radios" before wasting your money. First of all, they communicate solely on cell towers. They are capable of using multiple provider's towers, so if one provider has an outage the "radios" may in fact work on another provider's equipment. If there is no cell service from any provider, then these devices will not work. More importantly, the "no monthly fees ever" claim by Rapid Radio is patently false. After the first year users are charged $50 per year, per radio. Hiding the yearly fee while saying no monthly fees is pretty lame, and I'm sure this company will be class actioned into oblivion.

It's almost like having a cell phone. That only people with your same phone can call. And working off the old LTE network you know it doesn't have the greatest range. So unless you're hunting in Central Park or near some other populated area. You're not getting sinal. And guess what, if your cellphone network goes down... So does your radio. Kind of a pointless "Radio" if you ask me.
