Funny how lego said the orient express was too heavy to motorize but didn't say anything when their 42055 bucket wheel excavator wouldn't budge straight out the box freshly built

That is a cool set! With enough creativity any Lego set can be moved with power functions

You should add the Emerald Night traction tires on its wheels. that should help with the wheel slip.

Thank you I agree! I had them on order and they didn’t arrive when I made this. They helped

If you motorise the locomotive you definitely need traction tires. And even with the tender motorised the driving wheels of the locomotive will turn easier with the traction tires.
@leggomyjameso60823 ай бұрын
I agree! I should have had them for this video

Hey! How do you assemble the wheels on the bottom black part ? Which wheels do you use? I’m stucked on that part
@3057luis7 ай бұрын
That´s the best way, for me. Do you need extra pieces for the 1st motorisation? Never mind the slipping. Real ones also slip.

Very nice video. Do you suggest motorizing both tender and locomotive to pull more weight or for speed? Can train motor and L-motor work together like this? Thank you!
@leggomyjameso60825 ай бұрын
Hello! I haven’t tried it yet. I think it would work better having two motors but the batteries in the one box would die sooner. They would both work together. The difficulty would be getting the remote to work for both of them at the same time. Sorry for the late reply. There is probably a way to build a remote on the app to have both motors operate together when you press a button

It would be great if you could do some more sorting bulk into sets videos

Thank you. I will have to do another one soon. I agree it is something I haven’t done in awhile and have more to bring to the table to help builders and the community. I appreciate the comment and I will put this on my list:)

Just add traction bands to fix the problem

Tried the second method and did not work because the gears where grinding had rebuild the base to get room for bigger gears that lie above each other. als I had conected the out 2 axle of the big train wheels than the beam that connects the wheels can get stuck.

Good to know. I’m sorry to hear the second method didn’t work. It was difficult to get this one going at first

Have you tried motorize using the 9v train motor with 9v tracks?
@leggomyjameso60825 ай бұрын
I did once for this set but I heard it works better with two 9V motors

Glue some sand paper strips to the wheels on the engine

That’s actually a great idea! Thank you

@@leggomyjameso6082 also if you have a 10 speed bicycle tube laying around just cut it in half and you will have a lifetime supply of traction rubber bands

I've been working on my own motorisation "upgrade" it's really a complete redesign ending in a 2-8-8-4 wheel arrangement with 2 L motors, just need to finalise the Bricklink order for the extra parts and I can find out if I'm a genius or an idiot... probably an idiot, though I did think of a way around 2 motors powering a single drive shaft
@leggomyjameso60823 ай бұрын
You’re not an idiot, that sounds like a cool idea! Good for you

My method is two 9 volt motors in the first coach
@leggomyjameso60825 ай бұрын
I like that, I will try that!
@paulmason68475 күн бұрын
I was thinking motorise the tender as in the video then add a second motor in the fist coach as the power up has two outputs

Sadly, this set is a blatant try by the Accor hotel group to force their new luxury brand onto consumers. Instead of paying you for free advertisement, they are asking you for an insane amount of money. The least thing anyone can do is turn around the "Orient Express" "brand" brick and use it as a regular dark blue brick. This design is complete new fiction by the marketing division and has nothing to do with any proper incarnation of the real Orient Express. What makes it worse is that "Orient Express" is a train name, not a brand. It was in use by state-owned railway companies for public trains until 2009. So, this almost 150-year-old tradition is being exploited by corporations to scam you out of your money for a fake "luxury" brand. It does not get much more immoral than that.

Yeah, this set was such a complete shit fest, beginning to end, I feel so bad for the actual creator who submitted his original design, totally undeserved. The absolute joke of "rails" which can't even sit flat, the lack of a motor or lights, the comically bad prints, the weird selection of names (which can't even be on the same line!) and so on. There is so much wrong with the set, even when completely disregarding the price. But for some reason people hold Lego to incredibly low standards.
