I think it should be investigated in the past and present in terms of political impartiality and credibility whether NBC News was informed and deliberately withheld from the people the now-known state structures.

For me personally there is no reason to save the system. The two party system has to be reformed to allow more parties a legitimate chance to win. That wont happen unless the constitution is amended that allows proportional electoral votes instead of winner take all. Which means you have to run inside one of the parties even if you have disagreements on a specific issues that the majority of that party will disagree with you on. I'm voting Green Party here in Pennsylvania knowing its worthless. But wont vote Democrat because of fundamental differences with the party. My options are immigrate overseas or deal with it and hate America. Obviously immigrating sounds more reasonable but then you factor in everyone in your life you would be completely leaving. Its literally a hopeless situation.

I understand the frustration and hopelessness that’s happening in the US right now BUT at least we still have our democracy. I lost my birthplace to communism when I was 10. Leaving everything behind was the most difficult decision my parents have ever made since we had a comfortable life back then but they decided that without democracy and freedom, there’s no future for their children. This is a story that many immigrants have told over centuries and it’s true. US is my second home and I strongly believe that as long as we’re still have a REPUBLIC, we must DEFEND, PROTECT and RESERVE it. With our republic foundation intact, the nation can overcome our differences and we can overtime come together to fix, built and improve this nation for our future generations. As the two governors said, this country overcame a bloody civil wars. We became a prosperous industrialized nation in the 19th century and #1 super power in the 20th century. This great nation and our democracy is still worth fight for. Just tuned out the noise and focus on doing what’s right for this country. I hope I don’t sound preachy and sincerely asking you not to lose hope.🙏 Take care!

great piece and so true. unfortunately I don't see these issues and steps to truly address them gaining the support in government because there aren't enough honorable people in these positions. I truly hope I'm wrong because the longer we ignore these issues...... I have to imagine that any logical and reasonable person should be able to agree that we need ethics, truth in advertising regarding political ads, districts not drawn up in a partisan manner....

I have given it a tremendous amount of thought. You may have done the same. The only act of policy that I can recommend is reform to Public Broadcasting. There must be a requirement for a diverse audience. We desperately need an honest broker of truth that we can depend on for our perception of reality.
