OMG! At 73 yrs old, I only recently learned I don't know/hear the many times EVERYDAY I judge & criticize myself....I don't know how (never learned) to love & accept myself. THANK YOU Susan & to your Guides for this amazing idea to hand my power back over to myself! ❤️

I did this some years ago and it started the process of finding and loving my authentic self. Look in the mirror EVERY DAY more than once if necessary and say "I love you!!!" Keep at it, eventually you will feel and see a change in your thinking and inner self. I shared this with a group of people I was involved with and they were blown away. Hugs and you can do this.

If you have grandchildren, you can use your love for them to learn how to love yourself. Would you talk to your grandchild this way? I have a few gbabies, and one day, I was slapping lotion pretty roughly on my legs and remembered how I'd recently applied lotion to my grandson's dry skin and how careful, thoughtful, gentle and considerate I was. Why am I treating myself with any less love than that?!

I learned, the hard way, that you choose things in your life. The biggest one is that you CHOOSE to be happy. You cannot and should not think that another person is responsible for your happiness or responsible for their happiness. I learned this, it took years, during my first marriage. He had me believing that he was unhappy, miserable because I wasn’t making him happy. It was my job to make him happy! After years of feeling guilty and trying everything I thought he wanted, I just stopped and realized that no matter what I did he would still be unhappy. 16 years of that ended when I realized that you choose to be happy yourself and then can share happiness with someone. He never learned that. Now he can be miserable with his 3rd wife. I’ve been happy with myself now for 40 years!😄And now in a 30 year marriage with someone who has the same mindset.

Please consider: If they are still around, it’s ok to, for instance, to sit down one on one with your mom and tell her your boundaries and the consequences for bad behavior (not threats or ultimatums). Speak calmly and like an adult. Don’t let her deflect/distract. Stay on point. Don’t over explain. Keep it short and simple. Expect tantrums later, that’s not your problem. If she chooses to have a tantrum, that’s her choice. It’s your choice and boundary not to endure other people’s meltdowns. My mom was a rageaholic for decades. Very abusive and violent. Not one adult ever had the courage to sit her down and spell out the ironclad future consequences of her bad behavior and to follow through. She went unchecked for decades. In “conversations with god” there was a passage in that book that said if someone is “sinning” against you, they are damaging their soul. If you allow them to continue, you are participating in the abuse. It a kindness for you to make them stop so they won’t damage their soul by being a bully.

@@im-gi2pg I don’t talk to my mom at all. My kids and I lived with her for 3 months. She was alienating one of my kids from me and starting to abuse another. It was bad enough that I saw the fear on my daughter’s face. I then found out that my mom used someone to spy on me for the 13 years while we were separated. It made me feel like her prisoner, so I took my kids and ran. My desire is to heal from the damage. I can’t fix the issues between my mom and me. I tried for 16 years. Now, I just need to work on me.

I cannot believe how powerful those two words are! I found this video to be so informative. When I met my husband over 20 years ago he told me about the church he had gone to that promoted positive thinking. But when times are hard he stops believing in that theory. He called me while I was watching this video and I told him about it. And said isn't this similar to your positive thinking? It's something we both need to include in our day. I choose to make crafts all day, I'm perfectly okay with that!!😁

I choose to warch Susan any time I can. Had to laugh at the cake comment. For breakfast I had corned beef , egg, orange, and a piece of my homemade pound cake. I chose that. It's all good!

"You'd have to give away your power to have someone police you." - wow, that reminded me of the tv show "The Biggest Loser" where Jillian yelled at people to workout. I chose to marry my husband because I wanted the possibility for all the good things. I had hope then. I made the choice with the right intentions. I can stop beating myself up for making the choice. Now, I am choosing to stay because I love being housed, fed, access to transportation, internet, laundry... The should-ing on yourself... I told my sister to quit "should-ing" on me. She would do it every time we spoke. Saying, "I choose..." will change your vibration. THANK YOU! I really wanted to know how to change my vibration! ...changing it to self-love to attract all the good I want! What will I choose to eat for lunch today? What does my body want? ... rice and bean burritos was the answer I got. ☺

Whe I decided to choose myself...I got happier, and a lot of people were surprised because I stopped putting others 1st. It was not selfish and it made me a better person. My job is not fixing others, it IS alright to help...

What a great topic! I choose to use this method. 2 simple words. I’ve been struggling to stand in my power. Like, where is it and why am I outside of it? When you realize that everything you do is a choice, it makes perfect sense that this is where your power is. I’m so over the inner punisher. At one point I thought to myself if I ever talked to someone the nasty way I used to talk to myself- God, I d be so sorry. I choose to send that nasty jerk on her way! And I choose to forgive her. This is just so easy. Thank you, Susan. I actually started to cry at one point. This is a liberating idea! ❤

I used this successfully to get a great new job. Instead of listening to my internal voice ruminate on a 6 page application & difficult interview process, I used I Choose to reframe: worked wonders. 🔥

It's a feeling of resist no longer in self-anger, and make a clear choice to have more conscious awareness being neutral and a bit above that. I choose to practice this with every choice I make.

This is incredibly valuable advice. Being kind to ourselves and learning internal speak awareness and then creating a habit of making conscious non-negative, non-judgmental decisions. Thank you Susan.

You said prices would skyrocket, and now they will due to that bridge accident! Weirdly, I had a dream about piloting a ship before I read the news.
