twig stove in dry weather make an event of it no hurry. Trangia wet. Or combo. looked a bit like Shaptor in parts.

Not Shaptor, but pretty close! A twig stove is an appealing idea (especially as gas has gotten so expensive!), might order myself one...

Well now I am going to open my Pocket Rocket 100 times to see if it too can be a tiny robot vampire… The thing I find slightly incongruous about your choice is the peace and serenity of your videos otherwise. Bringing a gas stove into that serenity seems…odd. Trangia alcohol stoves might be slower, but they are SILENT. They have also stood the test of time, and it’s what all those soldiers who carried the Ludwig before you would have used.

Good point! I do have a well-loved Trangia, too, but find it a bit bulky, so it only comes with me for more elaborate cooking adventures. I guess that my preference for the gas stove is that although it's loud, it's only for a couple of minutes, and it's more compact and simple. Might have to revisit the Trangia or a twig stove, though!

@@thedartmoorpodcast George, have a google for the Trangia Triangle! That is very compact. If you’d want something that can act as a Trangia stove or twig stove, look at the Firebox Nano. I have both of these - they are super.
