Two years ago, the great "sound archaeologist", record producer and writer Allan Evans died.
His tragic deat has left the music world in shock.
On September 3, 2020 a Memorial was held in his honor.

September 3 2020 , a Memorial for the late, great, much loved “sound archaeologist” Allan Evans was held at 3pm New York Time. The event featured recollections by Allan’s friends and associates, a sampling of his own early music making, and live performances by guests.

On Friday, September 3 2020, the well-lived earthly journey of our late, most beloved Allan Evans was celebrated. The Memorial took place at ROULETTE-INTERMEDIUM - 509 Atlantic Ave (entrance on Third Avenue) in Brooklyn.

Allan and I spoke only once, about Tiegerman. So glad I had the chance to thank him for that, Etelka Freund, Alfred Hoehn - so much else. The most generous, indefatigable benefactor, the Indiana Jones of the piano. I’d say RIP but we know he’s not resting.

Thank you for sharing this story ! Unfortunately, I didn’t get to meet Allan, but I followed his blog. I got to discover many music with his label Arbiter and World Arbiter. He did too soon. RIP
