Fascinating to see how reams are converted into notebooks. The lack of safety is alarming, especially for the person who mans the cutting machine.

Thank you for commenting your views sir ! About safety on cutting machine, there are sensors at the area from where the person keeps the books. Whenever any object (especially hands) crosses the limit the sensors doesn't let the machinery blade to get down or work. So its totally safe. We never compromise with our labourers safety.

You will have to use both hands to push two buttons in the cutting machine to cut by the blade. on the other hand modern machines have sensors to detect. So, there are two layers of protection to the operator. But the final pallet is totally stacked unsafely.

I worked in the printing business for 39 years and I can assure the machines look safe, especially the guillotine cutter. What scared me is the ladies in the flowing robes even if not around something rotary, one trip or slip and that thing would yank them right into the machine spool that cloth up at 1000 feet per minute, and that can happen just from walking too close not necessarily being an operator. Thank you for sharing the video, I am retired now, but it was a trip down memory lane.

Good to see the manufacturing process with optimal space and workforce efficiency without any fancy real estate, interiors etc., Also liked how the management has provided employment for the women workforce. The only investment needed is the forklift which will make it easier to load the cargo onto the truck safely. From safety point of view, the management must urge the employees to wear ear muffles to protect the ears from loud sounds generated by various machines, as the continuous exposure to loud noises may lead to reduced hearing/hearing loss/tinnitus and cause BP related ailments too.

As an Industrial Engineer, I have one suggestion - You have put manpower even for simple tasks, you can try implementing simple Kaizens or Poka yoke to Remove some manpower & save money!! :)

Easily in crores. The machines may not be that expensive but the warehouse and space is quite a lot. Plus regulation and license. Payment for the employees will also be needed to considered beforehand. You will always have to be present on job.
