I live in Dubai and I have a 2017 chieftain with stage 1 and 2 upgrades that I purchased new in 2019. I just passed 30,000 miles in 26 months in a variety of conditions, including extreme heat with ambient temperatures that have exceeded 120 Fahrenheit on many occasions. I ride very fast, very frequently and very hard. I’ve encountered the same fear sensor situation that you have just now, but other than that the bike has never given me a single problem. The engine kicks over every time, runs like a watch and makes a beautiful sound. I often ride through sand storms and the chrome has taken a beating, but I took it to a detail shop and the bike looks brand new. Indian makes an awesome product. I’m preparing to buy a house in the states and the first vehicle I’m going to buy is a challenger. I could never imagine owning a Harley….

Wonderful description and account of the varied and difficult conditions these bikes can deal with. I’ve seen two year old Harley’s with pitting all over the front forks and to me that’s inexcusable.
@ImHarrisB3 жыл бұрын
@@TwoIndians to be honest, over here the Harley’s always break down. They have a line outside the workshop door… problems with seals, parts failure, engine failures, cosmetics… everything. I know four men who each bought a CVO. All four CVOs showed up at the same time and all four CVOs were back in the shop because of damaged engines due to oil leaks. It took four months for the parts to arrive. These guys paid close to $40k for bikes that have been in the shop more than they have been on the road. Unforgivable.

Love the 111 Thunder Chief platform, and except for the gear position indicator issue the only other problem I had was a moisture issue on the 17 vintage speedo head. @@TwoIndians I would probably be hesitant on a 2017 as well because I researched a lot before hand and a lot of people had the same issue of having it reset to zero on the late 20-teens models of bikes. @TwoIndians2 жыл бұрын
you cannot swap the LED illuminators unless you want to risk board-level soldering. my dealer tells me I would need to swap the two instrument panels. The new ODO does not pick up where the old one left off so we'd have to file a document with the state declaring the mileage at the time of the swap and according to my dealer that MUST be done by the dealer so as to not violate any state laws on vehicle documentation. All-in its about $800 to swap it out. simple job though.

@TwoIndians Жыл бұрын
What do you like most about the Harley?
@HazukiKyouko7 ай бұрын
I wanted a road king but the Indian cheiftan seems more refined and luxurious not a fan of the vibrations from the Harley, good power more than Indian but the 116 motor has enough power to get you in trouble and then some.

Are the Springfield’s pretty much the new Cross Roads? Pretty much a fairingless Cheiftain
@TwoIndians2 жыл бұрын
Yes, they’re Indian’s answer to the HD Road King.

How did the Springfield handle in slow traffic and parking lots? Any stability issues going slow? I live in South Florida where there's stop and go traffic most of the time.
@TwoIndians2 жыл бұрын
Same here buddy. I live in Orlando. Awful traffic. We just have these nice roads west of town. To answer your question it handles like a dream. Way better than the Road King
@erolyalim29112 жыл бұрын

I own a 2019 Springfield that has the 111 with the Lloydz engine updates/tune and I love my bike as well. I couldn't AGREE more with you on the instrument lighting. It is very tough to see and that white background would be SO MUCH BETTER. Only critical point I have about your video is with you talking about routinely driving 85-90+mph. Come on dude, if you want to drive like you are on a race track then let that be your business. No need to market that. Yes, I understand you only said that to demonstrate the durability of the air cooled Thunderstroke engine...I get it, but still.... I like the guys the guy that has his Indian MC deep into 6 figures on his odometer. That is really cool to see and shows just how durable these Thunderstroke engines are. Have fun, but man, ride safe. Don't want you to become pot hole filler sooner than what you need to be.... Would miss seeing your future videos, then who would I watch?? Take care.

Thanks for your comments. Understood but with multiple iron butt rides and lots of highway miles it’s just a fact of life that I will cruise at a higher speeds and of course there’s always that ONE moment when you say to yourself, “let’s see what this baby will do”. But I’m always cautious and careful.
@kristincram38153 жыл бұрын
On the highways, especially around central Florida, I feel like 85/90 is the only way to go. It honestly feels safer, that I’m seen more and helps me more get a feel of the traffic going on around me.

Who owns a big cruiser and hasn’t hit 85-90 mph?
@thollingsworth49102 жыл бұрын
That bike looks great, one of my bikes is a 2013 Victory and I won't part with it. The Vics hold 5 quarts of 20-40 oil. I believe the Indians are the same, that may have something to do with them running so good for extended higher rpm rides.
@TwoIndians2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don’t know what it is but I can run that thing hard for 24 hours non stop and she don’t skip a beat.

serious question.. where did you get your apes?
@TwoIndians3 жыл бұрын
Those are from Indian. TBH the quality is not what I expected, wanted chrome bars but they are “polished steel”. I mean they aren’t all that expensive but everything else is chrome and then you put these on and they’re pretty much a mediocre satin finish. Had to polish them for an hour to clean them up.

You are so blessed my friend. To have a lovely wife who gives you a gorgeous motorcycle for your birthday would feel like Heaven. Bikes or no bikes - you are a very lucky man. Have you installed oil coolers on your bikes? I put them on my Harleys. Not sure if I felt less heat after, but having them installed gave me confidence I was doing something good for the bikes. My next bike will most likely be a Springfield.
@TwoIndians2 жыл бұрын
when i bought the bike I put an oil cooler on it before I even picked it up. Figured it was good insurance. I doubt it made any difference on heat output but I'm sure it contributes to the longevity of the oil and thus, the motor.

If you truly can't stand that gage light trade it in for a 2021 darkhorse Springfield
@ericsuperhawk3 жыл бұрын
I've honestly never even noticed the gage lights color at night. I think I've only been out after dark a few times though. I HAVE noticed my power button paint is fading.. you really don't have to touch that button to start the bike. I don't use that button or a key fob of any sorts. I think it came with one. It's in a dresser drawer in my bedroom ha ha.
