the amount of planning that must go into a performance like this is incredible, combining numerous concertos in harmonious ways, the spoken jokes and slapstick comedy, all while playing beautifully. Damn these boys really do put in 40hrs a day huh.

Subtitles for people who dont understand! Notes before starting: E = Eddy B = Brett B: I just wanted to see what it would feel like being brass player. B: April Fools! B: (to pianist) Can you give me an A? **pianist plays A, B & E both tune** B: D minor? **D minor chord plays** B: uh..D major? **D major chord plays** B: D 7th? **D 7th chord plays** B: Uh..B natural? **B flat plays** (Reference to the I N T E R E S T I N G meme) **Brett and Eddy both play meditation, Eddy gets shaky bow and Brett stops and stops Eddy aswell** E: Ok, first of all I just wanted to promised you that..practiced. And, at home it sound fine! I dont know why my hands just... keep shaking. B: Okay okay, just breathe in. **Eddy sHakiLy breathes in** B:..And breathe out. **Eddy sHakilY breathes out** B: Can you breathe in this time with Less Staccato and More Legato? **Eddy breathes in** B: Now think of happy things! **Eddy is holding his breath and Brett notices** B:...You can breathe out- E: Uhm, Happy thoughts. Today, we are here with Jenny (Pianists name) and Brett, doing our first ever concert in Atlanta! And uh, we actually managed to get an audience...I'm shaking again B: Look, happy thoughts as in...what do you like to eat? E: Uh...peaches! B: Okay..and what do you like to drink? E: Coca-Cola? B: Ok now just think of Peaches and Coca-Cola- **Eddy tries to play meditation again, but gets shaky bow.** B: Okay seriously what's wrong? **someone from the audience say something** E: I'm so nervous I didnt even hear what they said..Okay look look I have a confession. Ever since I was young, I’ve had very bad performance anxiety. And whenever there was an audience over 8 people, I just start sounding… **Brett's shoulder rest falls off** E: Uh...yeah so anyway whenever there was an audience over 8 people, I'd immediately start sounded like a viola. (Viola joke alert!!) B: Here. **gets 2 bananas** Its bananas :) E: Why is there 2? B: Cause 2 is better than 1. Go off-stage and eat them, you'll feel better. **The audience and Brett say bye to Eddy as he goes off-stage** B: Aw..that was dissapointing. Anyway on a good note welcome to the Twoset Violin show. And uh, I have a secret to tell you. Ever since I was a little kid, I always wanted to become a soloist. And now that Eddy is out of the way. Why not have to make my big debut here at Atlanta? So I'm gonna play you guys the Tchaikovsky violin concerto. . . . Now in this part of the video, Brett and Eddy play a piece called Concerto Battle, composed by Jordan He. It's just basically a violin "battle" where they use concertos like Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Brahms and more. Now lets get back to the subtitles! . . . B: That wasn't bad. E: Thank you, You- You're really good as well. B: I know :) E: Anyway, I was thinking about what you said earlier. You said something quite…deep, very wise, so profound. And that is that two bananas are better than one. You see, heres the thing. Rather than trying to compete with each other to see who the better soloist, that’s a little bit like going to the supermarket, grabbing two bananas and trying to decide which banana’s better. Well, why don’t we do this instead; why don’t we join our two bananas together and…no no no no no- What I *meant* was, that we join forces. B: Uh, I'm a violinist. I only play concertos. E: There are some concertos out there written for 2 violins. L-Like that famous one. The Bach Double! Would you like to play the Bach Double? B: No but okay :/

Wow, I didn't expect this video to blow up like it did. I guess there are not too many recordings of TwoSet's concerts out there. Anyways here's the answers to some common questions: 1. This concert was held in a high school auditorium, not a "real" concert venue. I think at the time TwoSet could not afford to book the real thing. The tickets were $70 to sit in "Zone A" which was just the first 10 rows cordoned off (no assigned seating). Therefore how good your seat was depended on not only your Zone, but on how early you came to line up. I remember the line stretching around the building when I joined it. 2. Yes, they did a lot of call-and-response meme material such as "If you can play it slowly..." and "INTERESTING", etc. You could tell among the audience who actually was a fan and who was just there because they were with someone who was a fan. Especially a lot of parents I noticed had trouble following what was going on, while their kid was loving it. I remember one father saying "Well, they're good when they actually play..." He did not appreciate the comedy bits in-between the playing. 3. I stopped recording after the first 20 minutes because my arms were getting tired, and also I felt that I was concentrating too much on recording and not the actual concert. Because it was not a real concert venue, there were no ushers and there were no rules about not recording. I could have taped the whole show but then I definitely wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. Sorry! 4. In the rest of the show, they continued this pattern of comedy bits in-between a few minutes of actual playing. The pianist had a solo to give them a break for a few minutes. Then there was a whole large portion of the show dedicated to a meta bit where Eddy "became" the Viola King and Brett put on a wig to become a girl and there was fake romantic tension (it's hard to remember now because it was almost 2 years ago). The Viola King bit was captured by this other KZbinr: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYbLcomkebx9ebc That's about all I have. Thanks for liking and commenting!

I believe TwoSet Violin has multiple accompanists, and while Sophie Oui Oui is one of them, she is not the only one. This Atlanta concert was part of their fall 2018 tour of North America, where they performed Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and Atlanta. The pianist on this tour is Jenny Li, a graduate of the Mannes College of Music in NYC. She's also a fantastic visual artist. portfolio.newschool.edu/jennyli/about/

I think using the word "talent" like they were born with some special gift is belittling the effort. They have practiced, years and years of long boring days with shifts, scales, vibratos, bowing techniques and what not to become accomplished violinists. Then they have put in great effort to mix all these famous violin concertos and then practice the final battle. All we hobby musicians so far from their standards, we didn't lack the talent, we were simply too lazy to practice as we should have done.
