Agreed on the practice. The man has touched an actual piano before the cloth version; the tactile memory helps when he doesn't have the real thing. Musicians do that, sometimes, with just a sheet music and empty air in front of them. But I do not think instrument-free practice is useful to anyone who never had exposure to the real instrument before.

It's not really oppression. I played oboe for many years, and it's basically just that no one has any idea what an oboe is if you aren't a musician. They usually think it's a clarinet or something.

Classical music do not have lyrics. Beethoven: Oh, okay / *composed Symphony no.9* Anyway, Beethoven can’t hear lyrics.
@sunnaum6 жыл бұрын
yeah, do you know the lyrics by heart as you know the melodies? That's why they give you libretos at operas, cause if you don't read you just can't understand what is being said hahaha

How about the songs, and operas? They have lyrics...

The chorale of 9th 4th mov. is from a poem titled: "ode to joy" by a german poet. Beethoven only set the music.

9:27 That's the reason why I feel bad for upgrading my keyboard recently (I actually don't have it yet, I had to send it in for a small technical fault). I feel like my skills are not "worthy" of the instrument, but at the end of the day, it's still an object that's bought for money, as long as that's paid I can have the product, even if I'm not worthy of it, right? And I love it! It sounds great and feels great, but it just seems wrong that it is so great and I am very mediocre.

You start out gazing, then slowly move to staring, then begin to make noise and vaguely move towards screaming without ever playing your instrument

As a bass instrument player seeing a crescendo or notations of other instruments during tests is very helpful when you get lost in 40 bars or more of resting.
