From the National Park Service, "Roundup is the park's only camping facility in which horses are permitted. This private campsite is located 12 miles from Medora, ND in the park's South Unit. It is reserved by one group at a time; space is not be shared among different parties. Reservations for Roundup begin each season on the first business day in March at 8:00 am MST. See the RESERVATIONS section below. Roundup can accommodate up to 20 people and 20 horses or 30 people if camping without horses."

Thanks for the video! I visited Theodore Roosevelt NP last September...I absolutely LOVED the Park! I camped at the Buffalo Gap CG ($20/10 w pass...non elec, they had nice showers, fcfs...), which is not very far from the South unit. It was fabulous there...just a beautiful place to camp. I did stay at Juniper campground the next night when visiting the N Unit. I will return and visit TRNP again...I loved it! Especially the wild horses!

I live by the north unit, and while I love the horses, my favorite is the north unit because it's "wilder". It feels like it's more a "regional", private park...lol Many people go to the south and don't want to make the drive to the north unit.

We absolutely loved the north unit. I think you must be right about the north feeling wilder.
