I don't like to think of it as armchair I like to think of it as experience chair 40 long years of broken battered and bruised experience chair...... I truly wish I could wave a magic wand, get them the right bikes, equipment, about half that gear they're carrying.... But I can't so what we're left with is some fun to watch content.... While I desperately try to bite my tongue. 😁🥃 As they say over there cheers!

Yes you get days like this, as somebody who rides a very underpowered, very heavy Ural can attest to. It is super frustrating when you spend hours going nowhere (once spent 6 hours to go less than 40km) but in the end, it is all part of the adventure right. Enjoy.

The UK is a great place for train buffs. I rode a steam train near Dalgellau and I don't think there was any worry about starting a forest fire. Apparently I have ancestry in Welsh railroading, but granny took care of the family tree. I still remember the Royal Mail stamps on her letters from Wales. The phone was very expensive on the UK end. You could probably really lower the air in those balloon tires. More roll over than bounce.
@pauljoyquilter3592 ай бұрын
If you lose traction like you did on the hill, just lower your tyre pressures by 8 - 10 psi on the rear and pump it up again after that tricky section. This should help till next tyre change.

Excellent video. Very good footage. We all learn as we go, and reflect on what we will do differently the next time we encounter the same hurdle. Maybe it's going faster, going slower, no hesitation. Eventually, we become comfortable doing more difficult tasks/maneuvers. Things we had no chance of doing a month or even a week ago. We learn our limits or the bike's limits. We persevere. We adapt, we improvise, we overcome. We are the " Adventure riders".... 🤣 You two are doing great. Excellent Cool 😎

Dry socks are useless on that trail! HaHa! The heavy bikes have an advantage in slippery conditions as that weight gives you more momentum and traction in certain spots than light bikes do. But Martin obviously has skills too! You might have had to turn around, but what a cool adventure you had in there! I do love the little villages you guys pass through on this series. Very cool! With that steep hill, holding the front brake uphill is always going to slide as there is no weight on the front of the bike. When the bike is turned off and in gear you can use the clutch as a brake by letting it out to engage the drive. It's much more effective. Steep hills are definitely challenging and pretty scary! I'm not a fan! What a cool spot to camp! It's awesome that you can legally camp there! Great episode guys and well done!

You have now got confidence in doing that , great 😊😊) . Ok you washed the bike , no problem 😂😂. It was deep. That hill incline was way too steep (. Lavi. I hope your foot is ok and better. ). Ollie as far as using the front brake to stop the bike rolling back on a gradient like that, it's a case of 'point of gravity', it moves back with every degree of angle even more so with luggage making the front lighter. There was no more compression on the front forks to assist the brake. Basic rule of an uphill start is to apply the rear brake leaving your right hand free, only for the twistgrip.I won't go into tyre tread as others have mentioned it. "Onwards and Upwards" eh 😉

Hey guys great series really enjoying it.I want to give you a tip for drying your boots but you need newspaper before you go to sleep pack your boots with crumpled up news paper it will absorb so much of the water over night that you boots will be that much more comfortable in the morning and then you can burn with the morning fire or put it in the bin I hope this helps keep you feet dry

You really need to look after those chains they are very small chains on the 125 and wont take too much before they are worn out especially with where you are riding them , make sure you clean and lube them up regularly. I have 2 vanvans a 125 and a 200 they are great bikes but your really pushing them to their limit and beyond what they are designed for riding them on the TET .

great episode its fair to say you wer'nt beaten the machines reached their limit first, the majority of even experienced riders out there are rarely able to say that. I dont want to be a killjoy but perhaps better not to promote illegal wild camping, if you had camped down by the water and it rained during the night/morning the little climb back to the road? My local area so I know whats coming, great stuff keep it up. I also ride a GS and done the strata but on knobblies styling it there Martin wish I had your height so much of an advantage.

Hi folks. Given the TET conditions you basically need two things: low weight and traction. The bikes are light. However looking at those back wheels spinning, you don’t have traction. You need proper off road knobby tires. I would suggest you get the proper tires on next town/bike shop. Otherwise you will endure more of the same throughout the TET. The constant rain and gravel and mud makes tire choice critical. 🤷✌️
@daveo2262 ай бұрын
