"Kind of a sad song, but happy as well" - welcome to TXT 😁 that's their throughline I think you'll also love Can't You See Me. I had some rough years not so different from yours, I think, and most of what I feel now about that is gratitude to that younger self for doing their best so I can have the life I have now. I appreciated you sharing that. And if their songs take us back there so easily, they're capturing what they're trying to capture.

I'm really glad you're getting into them, I love these guys so much! They're different from BTS but just as sincere and dedicated. Cool music, unbound by genre, and Taehyun has developed really cool vocal distortion 😁 Oh and the "how can you throw a lit lighter" moment - Beomgyu also didn't expect the car to burn. Strange magical things are another TXT hallmark. 😂

thank you for reacting to 0x1=lovesong, and im so glad you enjoyed the song and that it really resonated with you and helped you look back on your past (really happy you're doing well now btw)! 0x1=lovesong is definitely a fan-favorite amongst moas for being so beautiful and sentimental. i believe txt said the song is a love song by a boy who felt like the world meant nothing (0) until he met a girl (1) who he considers to be his one and only and gives meaning to his life, and the girl is basically the answer to this boy's chaotic life and changes his life from a 0 to a 1. and yes, the lyrics like "you're the on1y shining gold/glow", "the on1y rule in this world" were intentional, because the song is called 0x1=lovesong after all! namjoon actually briefly talked about the lyric-writing process and mentioned that he thought the replacement of the word "only" with "on1y" in the lyrics was a bit too much, so i don't think he wrote that part lol (he mainly wrote the lyrics for the chorus). also, the member you mentioned having the really raspy/rock scream-esque voice in both this song and frost is taehyun! both taehyun and hueningkai mentioned that they used techniques like vocal fry and adding a bit of strain to bring out the emotions in the songs, and i think they did a really good job!

One of my favourite songs and live performance from them is for "Farewell Neverland" It's such a calm and beautiful song. I would recommend checking that out at some point. A lot TXT's storyline revolves around a magic world, fantasies, getting away from sad realities and Farewell Neverland touches on someone who is on the verge of leaving that magical/ fantastical place.

I had been hearing TXT songs on and off, but had not really focused on them before. This was the song that changed that. I happened to see it right as they put out the MV. I instantly fell for this song and then began exploring the rest of their discography and found some gems. They have some great non-title tracks as well. They weren't allowed to sing "use me like a drug" on American programs, so that's why you see the Taehyun intentionally stop singing that part. Since you like to hear them live, recently they performed on Tiny Desk Korea live with a band and backup singers. The 2 youngest also collaborated on a song called Endless Rain a couple of months ago on the 2023 MAMA Awards. It was awesome. The song was written and composed by Yoshiki (member of X Japan, a heavy metal band) as their first ballad (released 1989). He plays the piano, Taehyun and Kai from TXT sang, and members of other boy groups rapped, played the cello and danced. It was a memorable performance.

I love this song sonically and thematically. TXT have been incorporating rock sound in their music for a while now (you should listen to Run Away) from their earlier albums to now. This song is a fan fave and we have a fandom joke about this song and the album it is from, The Chaos Chapter: Freeze (Freeze is Forever). TCC:Freeze has A LOT of fan favorites like Anti-Romantic (Ballad), Magic (Disco pop), Dear Sputnik (produced by Hueningkai), Frost, and of course 0x1. Again cant wait for you to react to their Lollapalooza stages. They sound INCREDIBLE with a live band (the same liveband that played with Hobi during Hobipalooza).

You pointed out the v on taehyuns cast, they have a song that goes with this called lo$er = lover, the cast said loser but they changed the s to a v (thus making it look sort of like $, hence the "lo$er = lover" reference). You should watch it as well. I'm glad you liked it. I hadn't heard the story of your childhood before, so I'm sorry you experienced that. I was abused as a child, I left home 2x as a kid, and at 18 got married and fled for good (although I eventually forgave my mom once I grew up and better understood her, it didn't excuse her physical and psychological abuse but it did help me to realize it wasn't me or my fault, and her intentions weren't to harm me, she just had undiagnosed and untreated mental illness and lost it a lot. So I was able to forgive but her treatment of me messed up my psyche and caused me to develop unhealthy coping mechanisms that I'm addressing now in therapy, finally at age 51 & after mom died) Anyway. I relate, and I hope you've also figured out a way to come to terms with whatever happened to you. borahae Brian. 💜 Eta: 10:02 music heals me too, always has, it's a very powerful tool. It's why I'm so grateful I found BTS when I did, they've helped heal and change me in ways I had never imagined.

Thank you for sharing a bit about yourself as well. I also was in the process of forgiving my mother and building a new relationship with her in my 20s, but then she passed away from cancer. She died a month after my oldest was born, so it was a very weird time for my family. Becoming a parent has helped me forgive my parents, but also brought up lots of other trauma with my parents I didn't know I had. You do not realize that the younger you is still dictating a lot of your emotions and choices, and recognizing that you are safe now is hard to learn. I am glad I kept that part in my video, I was going to cut that part out completely. I may say more in the future, but if you watch a lot of my older reactions and what music "spoke" to me, you can kinda figure out what happened to me as a kid 😅

@@DestructiveMediaYT I'm so sorry that she died in the middle of your healing. Dealing with the death of an abusive parent is indeed a weird experience. Especially the more unresolved it is when they die. You love them on some level, always, but you hate them too. And that makes for a difficult recovery. It was when I had my 1st kid that I understood my mom better. I had post partum depression with my 1st, and 1 night as an infant she would not stop crying. I felt like I was losing my mind. But unlike my mother who couldn't control herself (tho granted, while my dad was a good guy and never was even mean to me, he did not help with child rearing, so she didn't have the support I had) I just woke my husband up and said take her now (he was in the military at the time, his sleep was precious to him but so was his kid) because I feel insane rn. It sucks because we don't want to mess up our kids and give them complexes, like we got, but I've realized everyone messes up sometimes. I swore I'd never even spank my kids, or psychologically hurt them and I haven't, not intentionally. (my mom also called me stupid etc, when I'd have a panic attack and couldn't do something). But generational trauma is a thing and sometimes we don't realize how messed up our childhood was, and the ways in which we process things. But we can only do our best to break the cycle. I lost my mom at the same time I lost my sister, her hubby and an auntie, in a month period. A few years ago. Do to the complicated emotions I couldn't face it. It almost destroyed my fam. But thx to my husband and therapy I was beginning to fix myself and face it. Then my husband died 2 years ago and I had to work on aaallllll the grief at once. It's a process and can be rly complicated. Thank you for sharing part of your story. I almost apologized for writing so much rn, but more people need to talk about all of these things. Every single person has issues, fears, mental anguish at times. It's natural. But openly talking about it isn't and that needs to change. So I won't apologize for over sharing, I'll just end it here by thanking you for opening up and sharing as well. I hope we both manage to move past our traumas. Borahae 💜😊

I am so glad you liked it as much as I thought you would. Is a great song on the surface level, but then you get to their voices, lyrics and visual concepts, making it a whole amazing thing. I think this performance was during the lockdowns, so everything was pre-recorded and sent to shows. Gave the filming production comfort to do crazy stuff. Like with BangTan, they usually film the whole thing separately at least twice: once for close-ups and another for the whole group/choreo scenes. They do magic with the mashing. Much love 💜🙆🏻‍♀️

When you said they weren't lip syncing, it reminded me of a KZbin short that said "BTS vs TxT with lip syncing allegations" (Something like that). I was going to tell you to watch it but it would spoil certain songs. It's just funny because in the video Suga goes silent and doesn't finish his verse, to show he wasn't lip syncing, and TxT started getting extremely into the end of the song and like shouting it lol. I remember Kai going to Weverse afterward and asking if it was too much 😅 There's way more to the lip syncing allegations, I'm sure. But that one clip made me giggle. Ok, have a good day! 😅

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. This is my fav song from them. So catchy. Great vocals. I had this on loop after my 1st listen. And the song had me be more open minded and try other songs of theirs to see if i find others i liked. Love the rock influence in this one. The relationship is the friendship i think. That ending is sad. They wanted to burn the clothes because it was very cold. The lighter would not light so Beomgyu's character through it at the car in frustration. Except the car started to burn. =0p oops. So they have powers is my guess. I am glad ur doing better in life. Glad u saw the live for this. So good! Borahae! -2019 Army NY USA💜 Marie Marie said on 10/23/21 Also, in the video Yeonjun comes from an abusive household and the other boys are just from his imagination. It’s to escape his reality and at the end you can see Yeonjun wakes up alone outside on a mattress. juicymetra said on 10/23/21 YES! And to follow up on that - the fishes that keep showing up in his room, outside of Kai's window, above the hot tub/pool - is connected to his imagination (maladaptive daydreaming - a form of escapism for those with trauma and depression) since you see him looking into the aquarium so he hallucinates his friends throughout the whole video which aligns to your comment when he wakes up alone and the car isn't on fire. The director also makes a point to keep a distance between YJ and the boys throughout the whole music video and when it's acapella you only hear one set of footsteps which is YeonJun's. Also - if you've seen the first two episodes of "End of the Fucking World" on netflix (Soobin, the tallest one with black hair also wears that shirt in the album concept trailer) - the entire MV is heavily inspired by the netflix tv show. Abusive/Shitty home and family life - stealing parents car with your friends, it breaking down, overheating, and being set on fire. Also the green wristband is a call to mental health awareness month and possibly him receiving treatment for his mental health from the hospital (use me like a drug) BASICALLY THIS SONG AND MV BROKE ME - It hit so close to home for me. In this world of 0 all you need is only 1 person to save you and give you a reason to live, when you think you're a loser and are fine to die, not making it in to heaven. It's the best song I've heard from them and they have a NO SKIP disco for me. Hope this helps!
