I have heard that the song is based on a true story about a puma who escaped from a zoo but it was killed before it even attacked anybody because it could attack somebody and the story makes me like the song even more.the fact that somebody would hurt an animal when it didn't do anything wrong. Also 'PUMA' compares the image of a boy to a puma that escapes from a zoo, feeling the excitement of meeting a strange world and experiencing freedom for the first time, but feeling fear as he collides with a world that gradually rejects him. The unique lyrics captured from the gaze of a wild beast that yearns for freedom stand out.

Yea it's really sad technically saying like they shot him without mercy and he finally saw freedom but everything was alien(like weird ) and then near the end it says all I hear is bang bang bang I see my blood for the first time and his mom as well saying he died 😭😭😭

if you look closely at the lyrics, you can notice that it's written from the pov of a puma and THAT puma that they're singing about specifically is something based on a true story. there was an incident in korea where a puma escaped the zoo and was shot even though it didn't harm anyone, they killed it. i think this song also has a double meaning because the lyrics seem to apply to them if you think of it metaphorically, thank you for your reaction :) also did you see the album preview? the songs sound so good!! the album drops next monday!!

Ngl before I heard about the actual backstory I thought it was about the experience of being a new idol. Yeonjun’s rap mostly makes me think that. It could be about both things but it was inspired by the real puma escape as far as I know. Just the story of the puma escaping and being shot to death afterward, and the theories that it is related to their trainee/idol experience. Don’t be weirded out😅 I understand it may be strange to see this, but it all makes sense if you know what’s happening since this is genuinely by a true story. A Puma escaped from the zoo in their country but they shot the Puma even though it didn’t pose harm to anyone. This is a double sided meaning, look at the lyrics on your own time. They’re singing this and acting in the pov of a real puma. Escaping the zoo only to be met to its doom in an alien(weird) world. Don’t beat a dead bush, but they’re also telling you to watch who you walk around with. Your friends, family and whatnot.
