big hit. that who. remember when bts's suga was talking about how before the debut they sat down with bang pd and he told them his vision was that he wanted to help people through music, and he asked them about it and they agreed that that's what they would like to do too. so i guess their artists are interested in the same thing so they come up with ways to do that in the most fantastic way. its the best collaboration between company and artists. txt have a good team behind and in front of them so they are in good hands and they will definitely go far. they are definitely killing this!

Woo I'll leave my theory here so I can watch the video and see how much our theories are alike (or not): The theory that really got me going is related to bullying and angst. Starting from the photos for the MV's concept, we have the boys in various different school settings that can be connected to students suffering bullying or trying to hide from bullies. We see them inside the school lockers (where bullies usually shove their victims), or inside bathroom stalls with many graffiti and broken doors (which can represent a place where they can hide or also a place where they can suffer aggression =/). Kai even has a few cuts and bandages on his face, like he has been beaten by someone. We also see the boys sitting under the table, on the library or on the rooftop, places where they can hide from bullies. At the beginning of the song, we also see in the lyrics that they are singing about someone who is suffering and asking for help, someones whos is faking being happy when actually they are in pain. Also, on the MV we have Yeonjun with a cut in his hand and he is the one in the MV who will represent the one who is in pain and who is raging inside. About the rage/negative emotions: we can say that in the MV these emotions are portraited by the fire as a symbol of something destructive. Throughout the MV we see plenty of symbolisms of the boys trying to "put out the fire", which means that they are trying to deal with these bad emotions inside of them, trying to quench them. We have the fire extinguisher, the sprinklers, the book that Taehyun is reading with the title "How to put out the fire" and even the pool where Huening Kai enters using socks with fire emblems on them. The fire can also represent the problems that they are facing but seem unable to stop (since when Beongyu tries to put out the fire in Yeonjun's book it can't be extinguished). We can also see a scene that shows that one of the school's rooms is burning while the boys are fleeing the school at night, which can represent that they are trying to flee from their problems, after accidentally starting a fire in one classroom. The lyrics also show that the boys are trying to flee from their problems, from their suffering, hence the chorus "run away". Back to Yeonjun, he is the one who keeps "setting stuff on fire", like the book or the door at the end, showing that he is the one with the burning anger growing inside of him. He also is the one carrying the little monster plushie around. It is a horned monster, that we can say that represents Yeonjun himself from the Crown/Nap of a Star storyline. There, he was a boy in which head horns suddenly appeared and who was afraid of being seen as a monster by others and we already know that it represents a boy suffering from the pains of growing up and who was afraid of being judged by others. So it makes sense that here he is the one "carrying the fire inside of him", with all these destructive emotions boiling up. Finally, we have the representation of the "magical place" to where the boys are wanting to escape. An "imaginary" place where they can be safe and free from their problems and pain. It begins with the names of their new album: Sanctuary and Arcadia. While Sanctuary doesn't need much explanation, being a safe haven where one will be protected, Arcadia is related to a magical, imaginary place from Greek mythology. It was an idyllic and utopian place, bountiful with nature, where the god Pan resided alongside nymphs, dryads and other fairies. Throughout the MV and on the lyrics we have many things that represent magical, imaginary places like Arcadia, seeing as the world to which the boys go to after passing through the magic door inside the pool. We have references from Harry Potter in the lyrics (from the series of books in which a boy who was bullied by his own family finds safe heaven on a magical land, apart from the real world), we have references from Cinderella (a girl that was bullied by her own family and who is transported to a magical fairy tale at least until the clock struck midnight) and people are also associating the pool scenes with Strangers Thing's Upsidedown - which also is another dimension apart from the real world (because of the city on the windows) and even Monster's SA - which have doors that take you to another world. Being as it is, all of these represents the boys trying to escape from their harsh reality to a more magical, safer world. In the end, we see that Yeonjun's injury is healed and he seems fine. But then, Taehyun finds the toy that represents him half-burned. Maybe it means that even if a person seems to be fine on the outside, she can still be in pain, still be suffering inside. As the lyrics say, "it hurts more when I smile than when I cry". Friendship is something important to help a person who is suffering from bullying and the like but in the end, she has to learn to deal with the angst and bad feelings inside her by herself to be really healed.

In the mv when they went through the 'trap door' at the bottom of the pool and fell through into the other world it really reminded me of Harry Potter Philosopher's Stone! But given the Korean name of the song I didn't see any other Harry Potter references... Maybe it's just referencing how Hogwarts became a sanctuary and happy space for Harry and that their friendship/music etc can also be a comforting and happy space for listeners.. And also Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo is sang to Cinderella by her Fairy Godmother, so this is another reference to protecting and helping each other.. Great video, enjoyed your theory a lot! 💕

This is like the story I just read in school today. The story is called "Marigold" and it takes place in Great Depression (a period of time where a lot of rich people to run out of business) it talks about a girl named Lizabeth and her family have to live through the struggle of poverty, poignant and meaningful arguments in the family, and Elizabeth is caught between the chaotic emotions of a child and a woman. When she does something she starts to think about it and this shows the adulthood side of her personality but it's new to her because of she never experiences it before. Thanks for reading

I’ve watched so many theories on this and it’s confusing me 🤯 though this does explain why Yeonjun turns into Taehyun and he’s alone when they are in the jungle place for a second. Because Taehyun is the only one actually there

I’m still sticking with the other members dying in a fire, it’s more dramatic lol. Plus it depicts trauma from loved ones who have died unnaturally, which is very valid in the world we live in. I never considered as taehyun’s psyche though. When they get to the door, I thought of it as a final transfer point for them to create their own reality. However as we see, Yeonjun sets the door on fire (as he did the book and potentially the library and that one room they showed outside the schools window) and they just stay together for as long as they can. Ultimately they leave him since everyone is ready to move on and finally heal; Taehyun is the last one to come to closure and has a memoir of his friends.

Beomgyu tried to kill the fire (anger) But still yeonjun keeps getting frustrated which puts out a big fire. And what later happens, they run away! And where do they go? $uicide. Yes you heard right. They all are really happy that they can finally be happy together. The thing that shows they're in heaven is obviously that yeonjun now has no wounds. That's because no one can get hurt in heaven. Yeonjun takes his glasses out, and burns out the door to go back to reality (rebirth). They all go and live in heaven happily together, but soobin still feels sad that he couldn't change the world and he regrets it. This mv typically tells us to not care about what other people say as it can harm ourselves. If we fight fire with fire, all we get is a bigger fire. Just a note, not gonna go into the full MV: I think the doll in the end represent breaking free from his old self (persona). You can see it having half of its face like it is a mask/his persona he puts on. The other side is his real self that is starting to show. Edit 2: The doll is also having horns, and looks like a monster (the mask part is having the evil/devil horn and the monster having the normal horn. It can mean the mask is the fake you (persona), so it is not who you TRUELY are, meanwhiles the monster with the normal horn is actually your true self) (and they have a song called Angel or Devil in the album as well). I think when you are trying to understand it all, who you are and why, everything turns upside down. You get very confused because of all the lies and things you have been taught in life. The process to understand ourself can be rough and he might see himself like a monster, but in reality he is not. PS: Horns or ears, it is hard to tell but I think it is horns. Edit 3: I think the Universes Bighit creates work like this: BTS got BU, TXT got TU. Bighit is SOURCE and SOURCE = ALL. I think they have the same "goal", so what they talk about in songs and what they do in MV's are gonna be strongly connected with EVERYTHING. So if you see an BTS MV, they are going to have things connected to TXT in them, if you watch an TXT MV, you have things that connects with BTS. They have their own way of showing everything and they are diffrent people, but in the end the meanings will be the same, and it is not a bad one - LOVE.

Idk how much this can help but in the bts mv "intro: persona" at one point on the chalkboard you can see a sententence that goes "a dream is a small hidden door in the deepest and most intimate sanctum of the soul, which opens to that primeval cosmic night that was soul long before there was conscious ego"(cit. Carl Jung). So i think it might be talking abt that same door the txt boys see in their mv and this could all link together... the whole thing about exploring one's inner soul, going deeper in, like bts are doing with MOTS... it now seems that here txt might be doing the same.

it really makes sense tho, bighits froups so far have had now at least one song that focus on growing up and or the transitioning from childhood to adulthood. The symbolism using even those HP references tie it all in and when you see the translations you can piece it all together easier than you could by just listening to it. The scientific research as well i didn't realize that while watching the video and danny really broke down the message of the song quite clearly and concisely enough that it would make sense to even if you bever read harry potter. This may or may not be important but what is behind the glasses like, Yeonjun made a fire throught the glasses. When Taehyun he had the glasses on and was in in the the library about the how to put out a fire thingy but later on he took it of. I agree that Yeonjun is one of Taehyun's sikee(dunno how to spell that) since they're the only people with the same exact glasses. With the door it also sat on fire when Yeonjun wore the glasses. I think there's a meaning where the other members join Taehyun, I noticed Yeonjun is the first one hug him and all that. I feel like Yeonjun is comforting Taehyun. This is just a theory from my unexperienced ass so yeah.

I think at the end when the cut on his finger was healed meant that taehyun had grown into an adult who was capable of coping with the self doubt, so yeonjun is healed and can leave him now. But, since he has lost a significant part of his identity through this process, the teddy bear is half burned. Probably related to a theme about changing as you grow up

So I watched your video and as a psychology student that makes a lot of sense! This is however my original interpretation before watching this video that i wrote down. I feel like the mv is making all these references to common fantasy novels we have read to escape from our truths... Running away. The album name is dream chapter obviously signifying different aspects of the term 'dream'. As for the mv... Soobin, Taehyun and Kai, yeonjun all are technically doing mindless things wishing to get out of their universe. The moment Taehyun closes his eyes he seems to visualise the world he wants to escape to. Yeonjun too makes the reference to platform 9¾ and it seems that whenever he is looking through his glasses in his personal dream world not only his doodles but even the door in the end of the mv burns as if to show that he cannot escape his reality. I feel like they want to escape but they keep getting reminded... especially soobin and yeonjun. Soobin looks at that door in wonder as if to think if it will actually workm escaping into the door. And as the end scene signifies... Either they are trapped in their dream world or they realise its not real. Something along those lines... I took the ones to be aware of this thing to be Soobin and Yeonjun because they are the eldest in the lot and perhaps they are more matured in this mv. They are obviously representing the scenario of middle school to high school kids and what they go through mentally. Even the titles make sense in this format. And since you guys mentioned the doll... I feel the doll is... maturity. How Yeonjun's scar fades but the doll is burnt represents how accepting that he cannot run away from the reality helps healing his scars (the problems people go thru in this conflicting time period. Puberty and study pressure etc. adolescence in general.)

The glasses and the fire could also link to lord of the flies which is an allegorical novel about social roles and groups in our world. In the book the character that represents dictatorship picks on the weakest member of the group and uses his glasses to start a fire. The glasses represent knowledge and wisdom whereas the fire represents uncontrollability and mans essential illness

I have another thought about that 9 3/4 part. If you're gonna multiply 9 and 4 and divide it by 3, it'll be equal to 12. What's with 12? I have 2 thoughts under it: Reality Many people says that when 12 o'clock strikes, unknown creatures shows up. A total *fantasy* (their concept) Fantasy I remembered Cinderella. When the clock striked at 12, she *run* *away* because the *magic* will fade around that time. And when Run Away showed the magic part, its evening. There is no exact time so I can assume it as a probability.

I think it all goes back to Crown and their theme of a child growing up compared to a monster. The doll is the kid and may be seen again if they make a vid for Can't We Leave The Monsters Alive. One thing I haven't seen anyone note the same way I see it is the healing/disappearance of Yeonjun's scar. The scene reminded me of something I heard a dream expert once say - that in dreams, things like temporary scars often don't carry over. People often have "cues" to know of they're in a stage of a waking dream, and something like noticing a wound you had is gone can be such a signal.

the doll that taehyun found was always seen with yeonjun, as you saw the thumb scene , he had the doll in the left corner all fine and has its original colour. And then on top of his sweater yeonjuns it’s clipped there when the fire scene happens it’s on top of his sweater still . But when they leave it isn’t there anymore instead taehyun has it. Now it’s going to be a memories of his childhood and maybe soon he will end up forgetting it then remembering the memories he created with the other boys

I think Trapdoor may be a gateway to his unconscious where painful memories are kept hidden and repressed but sitting fire to the door represent facing these memories and not running away from them...
