Dear wonderful couple I have known a couple who adopted a baby just like you because the doctor said they were barren. Guess what after 7 years they became pregnant with a baby boy, 2 years later they had a third baby, one year later they had a fourth baby hmmmmm God works in the most mysterious ways. All 4 children (all boys) finished university and they all are professional and are doing great! The first 2 boy are married with children. The bond between the 4 children are just awesome. Happy Birthday, Tyanna!! I am Black and I think you are doing a fantastic job taking care of your baby, Tyanna. My hair was combed perfectly when I went to school, but by the time recess came and went, you would have sworn it was not combed in years!! I watch all of you guys videos. I definitely commend mom for researching youtube videos to learn how to braid and bead Tianna's hair. Her hair is always beautiful and healthy in every video.You guys are really teaching her all the important things she needs to learn. First of all. She started off the day swimming. That will mess up her hair. Then, they took her to jump up &down and run. She will perspire from this activity. Next she went for a smoothie and went home for birthday cake. Then, she passed out from exhaustion. At what point should they have stopped and combed her hair? Yes, she could’ve worn cornrows. But those would need to come out during the next few days too. I’m a black woman with 4a hair. When I was her age, getting my hair done wasn’t part of a “fun” day. I hated getting my hair done!!! Just to get the record straight. I’ve had natural hair since I was in college. That was over 20 years ago. And I STILL wouldn’t mess with my hair on my birthday or after swimming during my vacation. Now, I make sure the ends are trimmed. And make sure it’s neatly braided and well moisturized just BEFORE my vacation. After that, I rinse my hair after swimming, hiking or whatever. When I’m done for the day, I rinse my hair and put some leave in conditioner on it. If I feel like it. I’ll cover my hair with a colorful head wrap. I don’t take my hair down and deep condition it until I get home. By the way, my natural hair is healthy and well past my shoulders .

She is 3, her hair will be mess most of the time! Whoever is making negative comments about this baby’s hair must not have children. Her hair is tightly coiled and it will frizz. There is nothing you could do about that. Her frizzy, coiled hair is apart of her identity and it is beautiful! It is what makes her, her 😍! To me, it looks like you guys are doing a fantastic job with her hair. But if you want to know more about her hair type and how to care for it, I would recommend watching Christy Dior KZbin channel, she is a white adoptive mom who teaches other white adoptive parents about black hair care.

My children are 11 & 12 now and we still give them outings and memories for gifts and they love it! Lastly, it stung my heart to hear what Jon said about some people and their judgements. We have three children who happen to be African American and we understand those looks of judgement especially with our daughter. At three and a half she discovered rain boots tutus and umbrellas and for a year no matter the weather or venue she wore tutus rain boots and umbrellas and there were days she didn’t want her hair fixed so condition and a poof. Embrace these moments and memories are made cause 15 is coming and it comes fast

I can tell you guys love her dearly. Hair like hers/mine/my kiddos is not meant to slicked down etc etc. it’s made to be full, fluffy, kinda frizzy, for a slew of historical reasons you are going to get mean comments and sadly as she gets older and if she chooses to keep her hair “natural” she will get mean comments to her face…. You guys just love on her, teach her to love herself, teach her why this is happening (and it’s not just ppl are mean)… you guys just keep doing your best and know you are supported near and far 🙏🏽
