I love that way of content. I forget what 2k it was but it was like 3 years ago, 2k released cards perfectly, you didn’t need to upgrade any position just to stay competitive you could stick with players you liked. It took them awhile to become outdated. This year isn’t that bad, when it comes to out doing the last drop, but it’s not as good as 3-4 years ago when they didn’t make you feel like you needed to upgrade your team. (That doesn’t mean I think we should get bad cards just they don’t need to give us goat Wemby at PG right away, just more of a gradual progression)

Definitely a god squad for sure, need Lbj! With certain cards tho I feel are only hyped because like you said “teir” list of cards don’t matter because the way cards are built(badges, animations, player build etc) so yea everyone may want the card but it’s only to exploit. Some cards move better than others even being in a lesser tier.

I run mj at the 2 and dr j at the 3. Won 18 of my last 20 showdown games in tier 1. You need to be skilled to use MJ. But once you learn his movement, i can see the value. Hes #2 sg in the game. But if you dont lab up with him you would just think hes mid.
