That looks like a real producer. I think I'll have to tie something similar to try in the spring. When tying nymphs, I find it hard to beat a natural dubbing blend mixed with about 25% SLF or Ice Dub for a hint of flash. Cutting the flash fibers into smaller pieces will also make it less conspicuous, while giving the fly that little "something extra". Please keep the great videos coming. Ken Watson

Aye yo. That's a pretty good pattern there. Don't be tired of melting the monofilament though. Gotta make some eyes that are lighter though. Thanks for showing the pattern and compared to mine it's really close. I don't wait it. I like to see it close to the surface and see it swim. So I don't know on it. : )

Hi Alex, thanks. No you strip off all the down at the base, then hold the tip of the hackle with tweezers and stroke all the fibres back so they are 90 degrees to the hackle stem.

Hi Simon, no special way to tie it on, you can tie in a little lead on the underside of the hook just to make it jig a little better.
