Awesome pattern Martyn 👍. I'll have a go with this with the materials I have. I love your tutorials and your instruction on how to tie. Your one of my favorites! Thanks again 👍😎

Joe Duca thanks Joe, I really enjoy tying flies like this so it's good to hear people like them. I'll be doing more salmon flies soon All the best Martyn

Beautiful fly Martyn. I haven't tied an Atlantic salmon fly in quite a while. This is quite a unique pattern as most salmon flies have a very short or no tail, rather tags. I'm glad your doing this series of tutorials. The salmon patterns will turn the marta and barbel on so I like to have a few in my box when spring arrives. I really dig the floss bodies, ribbing and jungle cock eyes. Did you purposefully keep the leading hackle shorter than the aft or does it matter?

I did, but it doesn't matter really, I just wanted a bit of separation between the orange and the black to allow the orange to show a bit more. I wouldn't want a big difference in lengths though.

I think it looks better proportioned with the shorter leading collar. Nice work.
