Hi Kelly! I know it may sound strange, but you can run a piece of ~200 grit sandpaper on your hands and then wash them before tying. You'll be amazed how soft your skin will become. Thanks for another great video. Best regards from Portugal.

They have a saying in Britain about certain things (and it's used sometimes in relation to fly patterns). That such and such a fly, is 'as old as cotton'. This example of a wet fly. I'm certain. It's been around or something like it. That long. I know that 'hat makers' were actually the first providers of flies commercially (and I think that was connected to thinks like colored silk raw material importation). So these brighter yarns and silk threads. In colors were around. From the start of it too. I can envision that leaders and lines. Have got a lot better. But I'm pretty confident in my own mind. That people in lots of societies always had access to well made flies like these.

30 some years ago, I stopped in Walt Dette's fly shop for a few supplies. A woman (I believe it was his daughter) was tying flies at a table in the store. She told me that I should always keep a finger nail file and a bottle of hand lotion on my bench...and use them!

Been fishing almost exclusively wet for over 50 years now! Caught many thousands of trout! It is a deadly way to fish! Swinging, stripping, upstream, down and across, etc.etc. Usually two flys, a generalist minnow/ dragonfly on the point and a dropper on a short looped tag made out of 12 lb. maxima or similar doubled except for the last inch….helps reduce but does not prevent tangles! Tight lines

Hey Kelly I troll for stocked trout in and around the lakes of Victoria BC. I have been catching the biggest trout on a Carey fly variation. Last six trips I've landed a 8 a 9 and a 10lb.in the last 6 trips. I bought all the wool here and Vancouver BC. How much should I charge each for these lunker catchers derby winning fly's. Your many times a better fisherman than me and so are many others but I catch the biggest one's. I've 59 years experience and don't want to give them away lest your a kid out with his Mom and not catching. I could go on for hours but you know your getting good when you troll straight into the bubbler or have your truck hit by a wharf lol. Keep up the greatest fly channel on KZbin or tv.

Well I enjoyed the video, but I'll just stop in at your fly shop and buy them. Arthritis keeps me from tying flies plus I doubt I'm any good at it. See you in late spring.
