@@springerspanielfulI hunt as well, mainly deer and boar. If I told you how they hunted duck, you would be shocked; head shots with a .22 whilst on the water. Rick O Shea is alive and well😳 If you ever find yourself in Germany, happy to take you out for a day or three to experience German trout. Despite the rumours to the contrary, German cooking is fabulous, and they love their spuds!

Hi Man, this is right on the money, your sparkle dun is great a real winner. I have been watching some " fly " tying and fishing videos from across the pond. It's not just Texas that's big, some of their flies are like the head of a yard brush. Even the lure chuckers in the put and take call the lures flies. Bloody hell some birds are flying around with less feathers on their Butt. Keep her lit and stay safe .Reg

Brilliant session! Those Irish limestone streams must rank alongside the Itchen and Test in England, superb quality of fish and fly hatches. Half a dozen of those could have been my fish of the season on the stream I fish! 👍

Feeling like its the total sumbof disturbance that determines the spookiness of the fish, the cast delicacy, line weight delicacy. Leader shyness is vastly exggerated...That said nymps move more freely with undesized tippets. But light tippets is a hazzele and hurts the cast dynamics...my 5 cents. Conclusion 2 to 4 weight lines catch fish, with a 5 weight a double taper rules. Thanks for excellent work, love the dry fly action in rivers.

That rod was built around a Loomis IMX blank around 30 years ago in Portlaw Co. Waterford..old tech now but still an effective tool.

When I do oil painting everything I see when I am walking around before or after relates to painting; the colors I see, shapes I see, etc. Everything becomes more noticeable. I've been tying a lot recently, and as soon as I saw your video, first thing I thought was "That guys beard would make some great tying material". 😆

Hi George, great stuff again. I heard you say you put floatant on the leader to within 2 feet of the fly. Would you put fullers earth or some kind of mud on the last 2 feet. What kind of tippet do you use.P'S that fly is letal

Best not to touch the leader nearest the fly, but if it floats a rub of mud can sometimes do the trick. I'm struggling to find reliable tippet material, will let you know if I find anything that does the business. Thanks for your interaction.

Andrew,cdc will work but it won't last but for a couple of fish,the deerhair is what makes it really last and work.

Thanks for your observation, I have tried all manner of casts in this particular spot to little avail re drag, however I caught them later using a sedge, so a victory of sorts.
